Denmark House is a small piece of Denmark in the middle of Melbourne CBD. Offering the best of Denmark: wonderful Danish food, served in beautiful Danish design in a enjoyable atmosphere of Danish music and “hygge”, which translates as ‘coziness’.

The New Nordic cuisine is one of the leading gastronomic experiences in the world. Denmark House is part of this Nordic food
revolution and the restaurant and bar will provide you with a traditional yet modern Danish experience.

For lunch we offer 20 different kinds of “smørrebrød” – the traditional Danish open sandwich. You can choose your own selection or go for the tasting platter, a healthy lunch option when you fancy something different.

In the evening we serve a contemporary menu inspired by New Nordic cuisine with an emphasis on comfort foods so guests sample true Danish ‘hygge’ when dining at Denmark House.

Excellent open sandwiches. Recommend the roast pork and the marinated herring. Quite atmosphere and spread-out tables so easy to chat.

Enjoyed a range of superbly prepared and tasty traditional Danish open sandwiches with friends. Service was absolutely excellent, the cost moderate and the atmosphere relaxed and we thoroughly a wide range of fine Danish food and drinks. Can't wait to get back there asap.

We had an excellent lunch at Denmark House. The service was impeccable and delicious danish style open sandwiches - smorrebrod. Would highly recommend.

We took our UK visitor to Denmark House after raving about the food we have had there previously. We were definitely NOT disappointed. The smørrebrød flavours we selected were all excellent and included some new delicious taste combinations for us. We chose to divide all of our choices three ways between us, so we could all experience the flavours. We chose two of the desserts to share as well, and again they were different and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was quite busy for Saturday lunch. I always like the way the restaurant changes its menus seasonally, meaning there are usually some different selections to try on different visits.
