Dos Olivos used to be one of my favorite places in Harlingen! Not sure what happened but quality of food and service went downhill!

Our server Ethaniel really set the time for the experience, he was very polite, outgoing, and did a great job of being informative and attentive without being overbearing.

Nice atmosphere in this restaurant, but definitely loud with one big office party and another table with an extremely loud laugher. My friend was very happy with the wine and the appetizer was tasty. We both got sandwiches: the Barbacoa Torta and the Salmon. The salmon was better, but neither really hit the mark. The torta was quite spicy, which isn't bad in and of itself, but it was missing a full barbacoa flavor and was just too bready. This doesn't mean I won't try this place again because there are many other items on the menu that sound good and could very well be, so time will tell.

We went for a work meal. It was not very busy and we were seated right away. Wait staff was very attentive. We did not feel rushed or feel like we were waiting between courses. Good was fabulous and I would highly recommend.

It was a great evening. We had never been to Dos Olivos before, but it had always been on our list to try. The vibe is completely different from what you see through the windows—it always looked more like a market than a restaurant from the outside. I happened to see the link on Facebook for the Valentine’s Day dinner and decided it was the perfect opportunity to check it out. We had always assumed it was just wine and charcuterie trays, but it turned out to be so much more. We will definitely be going back for another date night or a light dinner.
