Somewhat disappointed overall! My wife loved her Spicy Shrimp but my Sushi & Sashimi entree had a poor selection of fish although it was very fresh. It was made up with all the cheap cuts of tuna, no salmon and one small piece of mackerel. The ginger dressing on the salad lacked flavor. Our wine refill was a different and cheaper pour so we refused it and had to ask for our original choice. I had to ask three times for enough carry out boxes. You would have thought they were made of gold.

They should close this restaurant-I was disappointed in every way. I'm upset with opentable for putting it at the top of a list called 10 best kept secrets near you. We were not greeted for 10 minutes after we were seated, the manager noticed this and began taking care of us-he was very pleasant, although he had not been a server in some time and it was noticeable. We noticed a lot of unprofessional-ism happening in the restaurant and the other tables around us were not getting attentive service either. We had appetizers, sushi, and entrees... ALL BAD. I hope the manager finds a new job soon, I heard he had a son.

While the food was very good and the server attentive, the kitchen must have screwed up our order. We waited for almost an hour for our entrees and mine was just sushui. We kept being told by our server that the kitchen was just minutes away from completing our order. This went on for about 20 minutes after the food should have been served. At least 3 other tables that were seated just before or right after us were served, ate and left before we were served. This was our first time here and I am willing to give it a second chance, but not a third.

A little too much rice on all of the sushi rolls. Rice was sticky and masked the flavor of other ingredients.

I always love the food at Eighty 8 and this time was spot on for flavor! The only reason this visit did not get full stars was the service was slow and not very attentive and the time it took to get food was VERY slow this trip. We spent over 1.5 hours there for lunch. There were only a few tables in for lunch, so not sure what the delay was. The sesame chicken was excellent and the miso soup was very good too. Tried the calamari which was very different garnishes and done in a panko-like breading, but was very nice large pieces that were not tough at all. Since the food was great, will definitely be back again in hopes of better service and faster turn-around time for food.
