   It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing drinks, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. We will be visiting again.

   The atmosphere was lovely. However, we had a reservation though the wait was ridiculous. We waited for 30 minutes for water and our server was quite rude. We understand that it was busy, however our server passed by us a number of times without checking on us. The food was not worth the prices. The beef tacos tasted like a roast put into a taco shell and voila carne asada. I paid £6 for knockoff Taco Bell. The only thing that was decent was the guacamole, but that’s hard to mess up. 10/10 would not go again.

   Starters decent but not up to the standard of the steak - we had Tomohawk for two - fantastic and the chips with Alioli and Brocolli with Almonds - really tasty. Lovely bottle of House red wine (Merlot). We will definitely return.

   We booked El Santito (the margarita bar) weeks ago for my husband's birthday, only to arrive to be told the bar is closed on Tuesdays and that someone should have contacted us which they never. We thought we'd stay for one and the drinks were pretty good although expensive (we wouldn't have minded paying these prices if we were in the right setting ie the actual bar area) and the girl who was on the welcome desk was really nice. Was disappointing to find out that a venue I'd booked for birthday celebration was unavailable and then we were charged a £3.50 service fee for essentially sitting in the waiting area (as we had already eaten elsewhere) with one drink each. They kindly refunded this for us though. I'd maybe return for food in future as I've heard great things, although based on our experience unfortunately I wouldn't recommend for a midweek drink. (Didn't have food but had to put a rating)

    Great food ,sometimes I was guessing on my order but all party ordered some different items so we could share. Some free cocktails for mothers day nice touch and some free deserts. The peppercorn and strawberry ice cream was bizarre but somehow worked! I would recommend giving it a try.

    The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious. The staff were kind on arrival however we had a waitress which treated us like a burden when we asked for help to navigate the menu. We added a gratuity to the bill which received no thanks from her as we left. Overall we had a great experience at the restaurant and loved the dancers.

    Overated, overpriced and over hyped. Service started off being attentive however, it rapidly decreased as the night went on. Food average, and the music not in keeping with the Mexican theme, far too clubby and this was at 5pm on a Saturday night.

    We waited 15mins to order drink. 10mins later the girl came back To say they didn’t have what we wanted and we waited a further 30mins for our drinks. Approached the bar to see if they had been poured and still hadn’t so we left.

    The drinks were expensive and poorly balanced. Out of four drinks we tried, only one really felt worth the price. All of them leaned very sweet, one was quite weak. The food was subpar at best. Guacamole was good because it was made with fresh ingredients, which is a pretty low bar for Latin American food. The vegan tacos were very sweet and also served cold. The pork tacos were also cold and had a mix of flavours that really didn’t balance out the sweetness. The ceviche was quite nice, but that’s mostly down to the quality of the fish used, which you can’t really skimp on if you’re doing tuna ceviche. The corn was also cold and underwhelming. All in all, I’ve had better food for less in Glasgow, and better drinks as well. The music was very loud and the heating was cranked up which made it stuffy. The restaurant also added a £1.25 charge for a tree planting charity to our bill, before service charge. So there was another 10% on top of that £1.25 which we weren’t notified of. I found this incredibly cheeky, since these sorts of charity payments are also tax deductible. So El Santo forces a payment on you, then adds a 10% service charge on top of that, and can then claim tax back on your money they asked you to spend? I think that’s outrageous. All in all I’d avoid El Santo. They can’t seem to decide what kind of restaurant they are and there’s better food at Topolabamba, Mezcal, or Rafa’s. And better bars in Merchant City as well.

    For first timers at el santo we looked forward to this experience as we had heard and saw great this about the restaurant although the food lived up to its expectations, the service and customer experience was shamefully to say very poor! We ordered our drinks and food together to ensure efficiency however acid started to arrive before drinks we had to remind the servers on several occasions about incorrect items been given to us and wait times between food service was just very poor

    Please always check your bill as there is hidden cost with no explanation : 1. Plant tree 2.service charge of 10% All is added to the bill. In my opinion before they put this on the bill they should ask if you could afford rather to force to pay all. Thx

    Seen this on tiktok and thought it looked great and had high hopes for the food. Was unwhelmed the variety on the menu wasn't quite what I'd expected. Opted for guacamole and some tacos which was just a very light lunch. Service was good overall I would go back.

    Food was amazing especially the guacamole! For first time diners maybe an explanation of the menu would be good as we ended up ordering a starter as main without knowing. Live dancers were fab. Waitress needed to pay more attention as we ordered a drink and it never came then after asking again one of the drinks were wrong.

    Really liked this restaurant and will return. Dropped a star due to poor service in the bar. One member of staff on a busy night making cocktails. Oh and watch your bar bill - various extras added ie service charge and donation to charity that aren’t pointed out.

    Food rating isnt really relevant, as we only had cocktails. Arrived late, apologised but was really rudely told off by the hostess only to be sat in an empty bar at the back. With no explanation of service. Sat for 10 minutes before deciding to order at the bar with again really no explanation on cocktails or anything. No atmosphere, no service, did not enjoy.

    El Santos in Glasgow is an absolute gem! I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by the amazing food, cocktails, and service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and shown to my table. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The food was exceptional! I ordered a range of dishes, and each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh and the portions were generous - I couldn't get enough! And the cocktails - oh my! The bar staff really know their stuff, and the cocktail menu was impressive. I tried a few different drinks throughout the night, and each one was expertly crafted and delicious. The Strawberry margaritas were a particular highlight for me. Overall, I would highly recommend El Santos to anyone looking for a fun and delicious dining experience in Glasgow. The food, cocktails, and service were all outstanding, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. A must-visit for foodies and cocktail lovers alike!

    So in all honesty it was a lovely night….. there is a bit of me that feels it’s a tad overpriced for what you get. The foods nice but small portions and didnt enjoy all the flavours. Quite a small menu as well I felt. However you can’t fault the service or drinks. Staff made the night memorable. But I wouldn’t rush back to eat.

    Very long hair in food! Glasses had lipstick stains when first arrived and the waitress was one of the rudest people I’ve ever met! The manager was very nice and replaced the glasses and took the food item off the bill that had a hair in it and apologised but overall would definitely not go back!

    Heard so many and seen so many great reviews. Honestly not worth the £133 we spent. This was only 1 glass of wine each also. The rest was on food. I couldn’t say I had a favourite dish which was disappointing. Everything was OK. The tacos, I’ve honestly no idea what I was eating. We also ordered a crumble, it’s was more like a fish mush. The steak and chips were nice (just nice). The rest was pretty bland. Nothing exciting. We are such food people and love trying new places. Tried and wouldn’t be back.
