Really loved the place. Ellies is more of a causal dining experience rather than a super fine dining spots. The restaurant is small and more intimate. The food was wonderful too. Definitely a hidden gem and the staff was very friendly.
The food and service was absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to dine there again.
Fantastic bar staff.
Salmon is wonderful.
Meatballs are perfect.
Wine list is the best of Hall Wines.
Dear Guest, We appreciate you taking time to share your experience with us. Did you know that we have an amazing Happy Hour Monday thru Friday from 4 PM to 6 PM and offer $20 btl of Wine during Happy Hour? We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back to the restaurant. ELLIE's Management
Beautiful location. Wonderful food and wines. Art is amazing and interesting. Loved it!
Dear Melinda, We appreciate your feedback and sincerely thank you for taking time to grade your experience. Your kind words mean a lot to us. Did you know that we will be launching our Brunch and offer patio dining very soon? Melinda thank you again and we are looking forward to welcoming you back to the restaurant. ELLIE's Management
We were very disappointed with the portion size at breakfast and that all sides, which are very small as well, were ala carte. The food tasted OK, but nothing special, especially for the price.
On the good side, we had the feeling we were out of town even though we go to that area all the time. If you are looking to compete with the established restaurant experiences in Dallas, that's always tough for a newcomer. Menu was extremely limited. Service timing was not worked out yet; the entrees came out before we finished with salads, and the bread came out last.?? Had to ask twice for the drink order which came out at dessert time. We were literally in and out in less than an hour. Room for improvement and I'm sure they will start making use of the wonderful patio area outside very soon.
Everything about the evening was awful. The room is so bright and not conducive to a relaxing evening. The service was AWFUL. Waited at least 10 minutes before we had to ask for a glass of wine( the restaurant) was not full. The menu was lacking. It was the night after Valentines and so also had a special menu. We were told there were no side dishes because of this.
After dinner we were offered dessert and waiter told us two things that they had. We ordered both and when he brought them he said oops it was Cherry not apple. They were both horrible. Will not be going back or recommending.
The food was very good and would have been excellent if my steak had been cooked medium rare as I ordered. The only problem that I noticed was coordination between the waiter and kitchen.
Dear Guest, We appreciate you taking time to share your experience with us. We apologize that we did not get the temperature right on your Steak. Chef has reviewed your feedback and shared with his TEAM. We will also work at being more efficient in our cordination between the kitchen and service TEAM as noted by you. We hope on your next visit you will notice the change. Sincerely look forward to welcoming you back to the restaurant. ELLIE's Management
A really beautiful resaturant and decor.
The food is wonderful, everything from appetizers to entrees were very delicious.
The service is lacking severely. Nice wait staff but clueless on knowledge of menu and wines. Asked for a sommelier and waiter wasn’t sure if there was one. Once he remembered they did have a sommelier, he said he couldn’t find him.
Overall a major disconnect with waiters and dining experience here.
Dear Guest, We do apologize that you had opportunity in having the Sommelier available to you. As humbling and evident it is from your experience that our service TEAM did not meet your expectations. We assure you that we will take time to train our servers better to exceed your expectations on future visits. What would be the best way to contact you so a manager can discuss your experience in detail. Sincerely, ELLIE's Management
They just have some work to do to make it feel more comfortable. The nice guy playing the violin. No one was paying attention to him which must suck for the musician. We were right next to him and it was very distracting. They need to up their sophistcation level and make it feel more smooth and laid back, they are trying too hard. The food was good.
Walked in and fell in love with the beautiful modern feel. Cocktails were great. Then we sat down at our table... waited nearly 10 minutes to get water and a wine list... another 10 minutes and finally we got to order wine... the little waiting game went on the whole night. The food was delicious, but the lack of hospitality and service was lacking and for that reason, do not care to return. XO
We're excited to have another restaurant in the Arts District; we need good places to go before a 7:30p performance. Ellie's is beautiful, and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. But I think Ellie's is working through some things because they are so new. Service was a bit uneven - we had to remind the wait person that we had ordered drinks, and we really didn't have time to relax with them before dinner came. The scallops were very good, but the pappardelle dish was underwhelming. The attention we received from Hunter saved the day.
We will return, but after a while; hopefully kinks will be ironed out.
The food was excellent. The servers were really nice and they were trying. It just seemed really disorganized. I'll wait a couple of months and try again.
Best burger in town. Bar none. Can’t wait for patio weather!
The food and ambiance is good to very good, but the service is VERY slow. Also, some of the menu items have very small portions (e.g., the chicken casserole). The diner should be warned and suggested to order an additional side. There should be alternative chairs in the dining/bar area beside the tan swivel chairs. They are pretty and comfy but just too low for the table. Or a lower table should be used.
Pre-show dinner, which they had a 3-course menu with excellent choices. Service was outstanding! Very nice atmosphere, interesting decor. Look forward to a nice spring evening to try out their patio. Even had valet which we returned after the show at Windspear, very easy and efficient.
Dear Guest, We appreciate you taking time to share your experience about our pre-theater options. We offer a 3 course menu at $ 38/guest from 5 PM to 6:30 PM for guests who are constrained on time before the show. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your experience. Did you know that we will be launching our Brunch very soon and the patio will indeed be a perfect spring setting. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back to the restaurant. Overall it was an ok experience. Service was very good. Food was good, but in my opinion presentation/plating could be better. The ambiance could be better. Lighting was too bright for a cozy, intimate experience. Given the restaurant is fairly new, I would expect some tweaking for a better experience.

Beautiful restaurant in a gorgeous new hotel in Dallas, whether dinner or drinks, check this place out. And, pay attention to the art all over the place.
Love the modern decor and feel of Ellie's, and the food and service (from the valet to the manager) was top notch. I have to avoid gluten and dairy for health reasons, but it was no problem making tweaks to my order (the scallops with a side of asparagus) and it still tasted amazing. The live music was a nice touch -- really enhanced the experience. Can't wait to go back, especially when it gets warmer and the terrace is open!
Very sterile environment not warm at all. Food is decent
Awful service, forgot to seat us for 45 min, sat down for 15 min without service, were never offered any complimentary items or apology. Small portions.
Eric food was fantastic!!

Very gracious service from the Host to the waiter, to the chef, and the dining manager greeting each table. Very lovely, lively and delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Chef Eric is the best. His ingredients are fresh and scrumptious.

Modern new place with affordable prices. Service was a bit slow but friendly and desserts could be much better. The food was good, not amazing but cheddar biscuits that came as bread were delicious
I'd tell them to go with the caveat that the portions are tiny and very expensive for what you get. The atmosphere is charming. I doubt I'll go back, though.
I had to check on the status of our lunch (3 of us) as it was about 35 minutes and had not arrived. I would like to see more choices on the lunch menu and this may be in the works
Great new restaurant in Hall Arts Hotel in the Dallas Arts District. The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. At lunch, the 1717 Chicken Chowder is amazingly good (you have to try it) and Ellie's Burger is one of the best in Dallas-double patty with bacon on a delicious brioche bun.
Wonderful food and service in the most stunning hotel in Dallas. Will be back!
Great service in a beautifully designed space
The service was on point and wonderful- everyone was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable. We loved the Chicken Divan, club sandwich and beer salad, and the Hall Arts Cabernet was incredible. The art all around was beautiful and amazing. Great place to have a delicious experience!
The food was good but I expected more options on the menu. The space is beautiful but the vibe is kind of off. Ellie’s feels kind of like a daytime casual cafe? But is meant to be high end hotel restaurant? Feels like the lighting and tables are wrong. The HALL arts hotel itself, lobby and entrance to the restaurant space are a knock out - worth the trip for that experience alone.
Dining area sterile, too bright. Feels like eating in a conference hall. No intimacy whatsoever. Lackluster salad and appetizer. Solid entree and side.
Service was not good, had to beg for another cocktail, wasn’t even that busy. It’s pretty new though
We ate at Ellie's before attending a Winspear event. A pre theater menu would be a good idea. I'd read that the noise level was high and I concur. Even on a weeknight at 6:30, it was but I enjoyed the jazz that was being played by a pianist and saxophonist. Service seemed good until we were nearly through and were asked if we had been offered bread (no). Lemon in a gin and tonic ($18) seemed weird. I had a glass of a nice Sancerre ($18). The ambience is off since it is breakfast/lunch/dinner/bar all in one long room. Unless we were going to an event at the Winspear, I don't think we would go back.
We had a delightful birthday celebration! Great food, attentive service and not rushed. We will
Poor service, average food and way to noisy
Do not recommend dining here until they get their act together.
Everyone was so nice and the experience was very friendly I would definitely be planning on going back
