I enjoy Era bar. It is always a very good experience. I do think that the portions are small. We had the shrimp and grits and received 3 shrimps. I also wished the server was a little more knowledgeable on wines since it is a wine bar, guidance on picking a bottle would be helpful.

Those was a good experience worth some really good wines. The food was prepared well and the flavors were mild. The seasoning could have been enhanced.

This was our first visit and we had an awesome experience. The food, the service and the ambiance. We shared a board, a bottle of wine, soup and chicken tangine.

Era Wine Bar is a neighborhood gem in Mt Rainer, MD. The service was exceptional, the wine pairings and recommendations were perfect for my palette, and the small bites hit the mark. I will definitely return for date night with the hubby or another girls night out.

12 Washington, DC restaurants that our local editor loves
In my years of tasting and writing for Insider, Lonely Planet, and, now, OpenTable, I’ve discovered that eating out in Washington, DC is like taking in a tapestry of cultures. There’s Sapporo-style ramen good enough to rival Japan’s best noodle houses; berbere-spiced lentils that pay homage to the District’s large Ethiopian community; and top-notch ceviche inspired by Peru. My restaurant hit list isn’t just a food-lover’s tour of the capital—it’s a delicious global adventure. Read on for a guide to 12 DC restaurants that serve full-on experiences alongside epic international meals.
