Disappointing. Server was slow and had a body odor problem. He referred to my grown son as "boss" The brie app was sloppily put together. My steak was over done. Fries and sauce accomplishments were tepid to cold. No one acknowledged our birthday celebration. I'm beyond sad. We need to look for a new spot for Thanksgiving after two years with you.

Loved sitting outside on the patio. Food as always outstanding.
We've come to quite like Founding Farmers, and Reston was our best experience to date. Restaurant service is challenging enough in "normal" times. Now, it's almost a disaster… except for Elizabeth at FF Reston – completely outstanding – she took care of us like family. It'd cost us 35 miles, but would consider returning to enjoy Elizabeth's service again.
There are challenges when din"pandemic" age but poor service and worse follow up by the manager should not be included. We have dined at Founding Farmers in Potomac, Tysons, and Reston on many occasions but this visit the service and follow up on the issues by the manager were horrible. Hopefully an anomaly.

All 4 of our dishes and our mussels were absolutely delicious!! Drinks are always so fun at Founding Farmers! We had a great night.
Food wasn’t that great. Fries were soggy, bacon pops were dry, steak wasn’t that great. The Tyson’s location seems to have better food.
I usually enjoy Founding Farmers - Reston, but this time I did not have a good experience. My group of 4 went for Sunday lunch. The first disappointment was after being seated we were told only the Brunch buffet was available - no ala carte off the menu. One member of the party is vegan, and there was nothing for vegans on the buffet (but there are vegan choices on the menu), except for hummus, green beans, and a maybe a green salad - certainly not worth the $30 buffet price. But it was too late in the day for us to find another restaurant, so our vegan graciously agreed to forego having a meal here, so the rest of us could have the buffet.
The food quality was just OK - typical of a buffet compared to the usual ala carte menu. The recommended physical distancing was difficult due to the food stations, and the restaurant not directing "traffic" in an orderly distanced flow.
The service quality was poor relative to other visits. The waitress overall was not friendly and welcoming. She did not explain their buffet offerings to us, and gave us only 1 buffet menu to share, so we had to ask for an additional copy for our convenience. We discovered close to the end of our meal, from one of the managers at a food station, that there were several selections available to us to be made-to-order - such as pancakes, eggs benedict, etc. - that we could order from our waitress, but she had not explained that to us. If we had known we would have definitely ordered them. When we asked our waitress about this, rather than apologizing for not explaining it to us, she tried to downplay it. Fortunately at this same time we found out about the desserts that were available by order through the waitress, so we were at least able to order some of those to finish our meal.
My wife and I had a weekday lunch here a couple weeks ago and had a delightful meal - food and service. Not so much this time.

Went here for my birthday brunch. Service was awful unfortunately. It started off by her telling is everything on the menu is in the buffet. Turns out that’s not true we found out we have to specifically order certain items through our server which we wish we knew earlier so we didn’t have to wait so long. We didn’t see her often. Didn’t bring syrup with our pancakes and took quite a while to bring us some. She only put in half of what we ordered for dessert. She never brought us clean silverware for our dessert. She also took a while to bring us salt. I usually can look past a lot of this stuff but worst of all she had a horrible attitude the entire time.
Our server was not very attentive- as in rarely checked on us. My husband ordered the Farmers Plate which is supposed to have Ribs, Brisket, and fried chicken. My husband noticed after his plate was delivered that he had two servings of ribs, and no brisket. Our server never came to check on us or deliver more water. When she finally came, everyone was done eating. My husband asked about the cold ribs sitting on his plate and where his brisket may be. With no apology, she said the kitchen must have been out and that’s why he got two sets of ribs. We asked her to go check and all she said is that’s the only reason the kitchen would do that. No offer to check with the kitchen, or apologize for not checking to see if our orders were okay. Just really sub par service. Also- the fried chicken had maybe three bites of meat per 7 bites of breading. Just not a great dinner out.
The service was really slow. We were there for over 3 hours. Should not have been that long. We had to ask for our orders more than once. The waiter was probably covering more than he needed or could in a timely fashion. He was super nice and super great personality BUT... it is hard when your food does not come or drinks when you order or if you have to ask for it to come. In addition the bill had items on it that never came. We had to ask that these be taken off.
It says the parking ticket would be validated and that did not happen either.
Food was exceptional though. It was mainly the service that was lacking and to know you are being charged an extra charge for PPD on top which is super important - it’s just hard to pay even more and know the actual service is not great. Makes you want to take out instead or not come at all because we are from Loudoun.

Went for breakfast. Staff did a great job adhering to safety precautions. Portions significantly smaller than prior, but understandable given the situation. Can’t wait to be back.
Always very fresh ingredients. Had a nice dinner, even with the Covid-19 issues currently impacting on every aspect of our lives.
Founding Farmers is our go to place when we don't feel like cooking. The food is consistently good and service is always great.

4th time for me, first for my husband- he enjoyed the food very much- a bit pricey on the drinks. (Mai Tai). Felt the a/c wasn’t working as it felt muggy-stuffy. 100 degrees out so opted for inside. Server Jordan was cheery and efficient. We will be back. Hoping to take advantage of the Sunday brunch.

It was our first trip to a restaurant since the pandemic began - and they made it a great experience. Super attentive to health of customers . There was a lot of outdoor seating too - all socially distanced. As always the food was fantastic and our server was super nice and helpful. It was so well run, I would actually consider returning once the covid numbers are down....

As customers not only we pay for the food and taxes but an additional pandemic fee was added to the bill

customer are also experiencing covid we should not be penalized for visiting the restaurant that has benefited from ppp assistances to cover such issue
Last it was my daughter bday and It was noted on the reservation but there was no mention to it or a desert menu that we could order something to enhance the experience

I have been patronizing local restaurants ever since the pandemic hit. I was getting carry out when that was the only service provided. When outdoor seating opened we expanded and took advantage of both carry out and the outdoor seating. Now that indoor seating is provided, we have been dining in.
We have been eating out specifically to patronize our local restaurants. Rather than our 3x/month we are getting restaurant food approx 10x/mo. This was the first restaurant that I have seen a "pandemic surcharge." It is also the first time that a server never returned to our table after the check was created and the only option provided was to pay on a website using our phone. This should have been disclosed prior to seating us. We were also not asked if we needed parking validation and had to walk back to the restaurant to get our parking validated. The management should have all servers ask if their guests need validation prior to bringing the check. There was also a mistake on our check but after waiting 15 minutes for our server to return, we just paid the inaccurate amount.
I am very sorry to read about the poor service, overlooked offer to validate your parking and wrong item listed on your final bill that all took place this time. :( I would love the chance to of course, have this corrected by refunding the oversight on your check and also find a way to hopefully turn around your disappointment with the end of your experience. -Amy
Great food in a cool atmosphere. Service was a bit lackluster, despite not being busy. Would return & insist to sit in the main dining room vs. the bar area.
It seemed like there was only one weight or for the entire restaurant. Our appetizer came out after our meal and it took 20 minutes and a manager to get the check.
Went there for my birthday. The food, service, overall experience was very positive.

It was perfect. Obviously fewer people there than would be usually. But the staff was friendly and helpful and our server Dina was excellent. It was my first time there and the selection options looked so good, it was hard to decide what to get. The food was delicious. A perfect night out in every way.
Did not know it was fixed price menu at the time. Food was decent.
Tyler was an excellent server. Very attentive, personable, and positive. I felt very safe with the protocols the restaurant placed. The music was incredible. The overall vibe was so great, we lost track of time. The farmers tea could've been sweeter, though.
