    We have passed this restaurant numerous times, but were a bit put off by its shopping center location. We were pleasantly surprised by all aspects of our experience! The ambience, service and food are excellent. We had a relaxing dinner and have put this restaurant on our list of favorites.

    Nice atmosphere. Attentive service. It was hard to choose which entree to try first, I had the sea bass which was very good. My table mate had , mussels and a salad with crostini covered in goat cheese and herbs, was delicious. A great bottle of wine rounded the meal. Will definitely go back and trey something else.

    This was our first time to this restaurant and we were a party of 4, we ordered the Salmon in parchment, the osso bucco, the muscles and the Beef Bourguignon. The Salmon was raw 1/3 of it in the middle section, the Beef was so dry and tough and impossible to chew 1/2 of it even with the small amount of sauce on it. The muscles were very good and the osso bucco was good but not as good as we expected from reviews we read. The salads were awesome. The french onion soup was delicious. The service was good but we didn't want to have a scene with 2 bad dishes being returned and the other 2 people eating and it was going to throw the whole evening off for us and our timeline. We would not return. We told the waitress about the issues with the 2 dishes and showed her. She did nothing except bring us the check.

    We had a terrific dinner. Lovely French wine list by the glass. Some of the best escargot we’ve ever had. Duck confit and Osso bucco were excellent. Caesar salad was good but not special. Fabulous Meyer lemon mille-feuille and profiteroles for desert. Our only criticism was that our very nice young server seemed very unfamiliar with the food and wine. He had no clue how to pronounce even the most basic French words. It seemed very amateurish for an otherwise excellent dining experience

    very nice decor with nice outside seating. not the greatest place. Sounds and looks better than it is. My wife and I had dinner there, and the server was very helpful with ordering the wine he made a suggestion and he was spot on ! I ordered Escargot, they were terrible, I only ate two maybe three of them and the server did not ask why I did not eat them and I did not say anything sometimes i think that is just the way they serve them. The sauce in the bottom was good however the escargot themselves were basically tasteless. My wife ordered the Lamb Tagine, which they cook and then put it in a Tagine? the Tagine was cold. Kind of weird why advertise it as a Lamb Tagine and not cook it in one ? I ordered the Vol-au-Vent a la Forestiere and it was delicious however it came a full 10 minutes after my wifes Lamb Dish. No apologies just here you go and my wife was half way through her dish. Maybe we got them on a bad night there were not very many people there and it was a Tuesday, the might be much better on Fridays and weekends ?

    We love this restaurant but hit a snag during this visit. We were there early and were seated promptly but didn’t Oder a cocktail for about 30 min and another 20 before we got them. I guess the bartender took the night off or something. Our waiter kept apologizing and did what he could but it was not good. Once we got a drink and had some delicious food, we were a lot happier. I had the salmon in parchment which was fantastic! The French onion soup is the best I have ever tasted! I wish they had quiche on the dinner menu that they had when they were open for lunch. We will go back, of course, but might order a cocktail AS we are being seated! 🤣 They have done some upgrades inside so it is even more charming than it was last spring.

    How did we miss this one during past visits? Excellent food (duck confit!), ambiance and service. Ask for Ross. He’s terrific. Owners are delightful. We’ll be back next time.

    I loved everything about this experience! I don’t dine alone often, but this time was a joy. From the server to the owners, I felt in great company. Plus the food was among the best I’ve ever had, even in France, The experience was amazing, go and try the cassoulet!!

    Spectacular is the only word to describe The French Rotisserie Cafe. The ambience, the service and of course, the food all align to make for a truly wonderful dining experience. Just returned to the desert after living in French St. Martin, which is known as the culinary capital of the Caribbean. And the food at The French Rotisserie Cafe is as good as any meal we ever had at the finest French restaurants in St. Martin. This was our third visit-- and amazingly consistent each time.

    The waitstaff was great all around. Everyone was exceptionally personable and very attentive. The interior is pleasant. The food is okay, but not exceptional or even noteworthy . There were four of us and that was a unanimous reaction. The chicken was good, but not a standout. The prices are high; we went for a special occasion. It just was not special food. Poco Loco chicken is better. 🙁 The place was packed on a week night, though.

    What a disappointment! The French Rotisserie has been a favorite of ours, but last night's meal was AWFUL! I made a reservation for 4, but we were put at an over-sized booth for 6. Our waiter was clearly distracted and difficult to find -- We had to hail another staff member on several occasions to locate our waiter. I ordered the salmon (my go-to) and requested that it be "cooked through". I arrived nearly raw, with barely the edged cooked. After one bite, I sent it back and asked that they cook it more fully. After ~8 minutes, a server returned with "a very hot plate" but the salmon was still completely raw, only now if had some sort of gravy all over it (looked like the sauce that came with the steak dish). The fish was completely inedible. My husband ordered a steak, which he requested "medium to medium rare" after reviewing the kitchen's definitions of steak temperatures. The steak came out as rare as rare could be, with a bloody red interior, and therefore was not eaten. Suffice to say, we were EXTREMELY disappointed, as we had brought friends who had never been to the restaurant before. I do hope the ownership looks into what happened.

    It could not have been a worst evening. The main courses were brought before the appetizers.  we had a waiter by the name of Greg who should have stayed home for the evening. Even when the checks arrived they were wrong for three times. The owner gave us four cookies to console us! That was my last visit to the French rotisserie along with my three guests

    Excellent lemon drop cocktail, made it to my liking (not too sweet). Fantastic shareable pate'. The fennel chevard salad was so so good; nice and cold with a wonderful light dressing. The mussels are the best in the valley! Delicious broth! My husband had the boeuf bourguignon and it was very good as well. We both had French red and chardonnay with our meals - wonderful additions. Great service and elegant setting!

    Something has changed at the French Rotisserie Cafe. I was introduced to it by a friend a few years ago and had always loved it. My favorite dish there for lunch was the Vol au Vent; delicious sauce, succulent chicken, and a crisp pastry shell. However, I went there twice in two weeks recently, excited about introducing two out-of-town guests with it. It's completely changed. The first surprise was walking in and finding the dining room nearly empty. Each of the two times there was only one other table of diners. The second was finding such a limited menu. Perhaps it was that way before but it seemed as if there had been more choices. In fact, when looking at the Gallery at the restaurant's website, hardly any of the dishes seem to be on the menu, and certainly not looking as they do currently like anything in the photos. In fact, the menus shown on the site are not what you find in-person. When going the first time on Oct 28th, I had a delicious salad to start. My friend and I both had the Vol au Vent. She's from Switzerland, where Vol au Vent is ubiquitous. I had raved about FRC's version. But what we got was a plate with way too much sauce, and it was loaded with herbs of some kind and, strangely, lots of green mushy green beans. Neither of us finished ours. We shared a delightful creme brulee and passable coffee. The second time yesterday, I knew better than to order the Vol au Vent and, instead, ordered the half-rotisserie chicken, which came with a small salad and frites. The chicken was coated heavily with herbs (perhaps sage and/or oregano), something very bitter. I had a couple of bites of it, all my salad, and frites. I took the rest home where I was hoping that by taking off the skin the bitter taste of the herbs would go away. It didn't. My friend had a Caesar Salad with Chicken, which she said was okay, but loaded with dressing. We shared a creme brulee and even weaker coffee than the day before. I will not be going back. FRC is off my list, sadly.

    Hello Elise: So sorry that your meal was not up to your expectation. Maybe a slight confusion between our lunch and Dinner Menus which do not have the same offerings at all. We have a full Dinner Menu (and very much the same as what we have always offered) and a much simpler lunch Menu - as you mentioned not enough customers at Lunch time - most people it seems prefer to have French cuisine for dinner. It is unfortunate that you did not mention any of these issues at the time as we would have gladly tried to fix them. One of the owners is always on premises. Many thanks for your comments wich we will take at heart.
