Did not deliver to the price point. Equal or better options in Mayakoba for lower price.

Please stay away until this hotel and this restaurant decide they actually want to make this a decent restaurant. There is nothing compelling about the venue, the service or the “food offerings”. Ambiance poor (in spite of attracting decor). Service was poor (in spite of decent effort). I chalk this up to poor training (no commitment at all). The food was inedible. Who dreamt up this menu. I’m no foodie but with 5 minutes I could turn it around. Perhaps shrimp that was dry, unappealing and veggies from my 3rd grade cafeteria (hello lunch lady) and a “fish dish covered/ encased/ surrounded in the least appealing hardened white unappealing “sauce”? Why, I ask???? If the Fairmont decides to redo the restaurant then I would/ maybe give it a shot but I see no vision there

We tried Gaia twice during our stay in Mayakoba. While service was good our food has been lacking flavor: the fish was bland, the Wagyu steak had not char, felt more like boiled than grilled, octopus was tough and chewy. Based on our dining experience, I do not reccomend this place.

The service is always good in Mexico. The food is good. But you leave hungry and wi see why vegetables are not a thing here.

This is a gem of a restaurant! The fish was so fresh and so tasty. It’s beautiful inside and our waiter, Daniel, was wonderful.

I originally put a review on Cielo by mistake . It was wonderful but our experience at Gaia exceeded our expectations Memories were made to last a lifetime Caesar our server explained everything in detail He went above and beyond. He is very personable and so very knowledgeable I appreciate every little interaction with him Thank you for turning a moment into a memory.
