Glass Brasserie - Hilton Sydney
Booked Glass for a special occasion before the theater. Service unfriendly and we felt like an inconvenience. Once I got the check no one would come near me so had to pay on my way out. Food OK but very expensive for what it was.
Very disappointed at no welcome on arrival. Reception person in the wrong job. Coffee was like warm. Food was great and wait staff very good.
Service was great. The food was yummy. Nice atmosphere.
Good food and service!!
Consistently good food and service. Wide variety of food choices to suit any dietary want or need. Will return.
This is my 3rd Xmas eve dinner for my family at Glass Brasserie. Previously the food has been wonderful. This time the food was extremely average. I ordered the top of line steak and ask for rare and received an overcooked steak tough as a boot and relatively tasteless. My daughter ordered gnocci that tasted of deep fried potato fries (we are convinced they were cooked in the same oil as the potato fries since my nephew did order fries and with eyes closed it was difficult to tell which was gnocci and which was potato fry.
Other fam,ily members food was quite OK and soome even good.
The dessert was wonderful. Maybe skip the ordinary and overcooked entrees and mains and only attend Glass Brasserie for dessert.
Sadly this is the final year I will spend $800 on my family's xmas meal at this establishment. I do hope they employ better quality chef's in the future.
We had the 7-course degustation. I loved the Asian influence to the dishes. We also ordered a kiddie steak for a 3-year old, which was cooked just right. Service was very good. The wait staff were very attentive and helpful. The only "bad" point I have is that there was no "wow" factor to the dishes we tasted given their price point. They were not bad, but I wouldn't say that they're excellent either (i.e. food is "ok").
Service was great and the restaurant is very nice however the food was a bit of a disappointment and didn’t justify the price.
I wouldn’t be in a rush to go back
Great views over George Street and QVB. Delicious food. Restaurant very noisy during the busy lunch time period. Our waiter forgot one of the coffees.
Overall a pleasant experience. We will return but could not afford it regularly.
Great food and ambiance.
Service was prompt and not invasive
We have been here a few times and this is one of our favourite restaurants.
Service was impeccable and nice atmosphere, but the degustation was unfortunately quite disappointing. The first two courses (amuse bouche and kingfish ceviche) were amazing, as was the panna cotta. The rest were sadly a bit bland. Not really worth the price. $15 beers a bit steep, too.. but still a nice occasion. Special message on our dessert plates for our anniversary was a lovely gesture.
One of my favourite Sydney eateries, this visit was a on a par with previous visits. Food and wine were very good particularly the King Prawn entree and the deserts. Service was efficient but impersonal to start with and tailed off towards the end of the meal which was a shame. One strange facet was that having made the reservation on line, I had four phone calls and a text to confirm the reservation from the restaurant and I still got an email after the meal saying that I had not turned up which wasn't true, which was rather annoying.
Fantastic day out! We were lucky to get a great table and the food was just outstanding! Luke Mangan was in the kitchen and is not only a genius but a great host!
Love glasses fine dining in a great elegant atmosphere close to the cbd and close to the sheraton where we stay which has no fine dining options. Food is always very good and we have brought many friends to experience the restaurant. We also love sitting at the circular booths a unique experience to anywhere else and feels very personal & intimate whether its two of us or six if us. The sommeliers are excellent and the staff who have been there for sometime are excellent and very knowledgeable!
Thank you for a wonderful venue and experience.
Jill Evans and Chris Boswell
We attended here for my wife's birthday. She had her choice to go anywhere in the city and this were she picked. I am pleased to say it was perfect. The table, the service and the food all were just as we could have hoped for.
Understand it's not cheap, a family of 4 was 450.00, however we all enjoyed it.
We wanted to have a meal before watching a show at the State Theater. Great location, accommodating fine dining menu with delicious cocktails. Wonderful ambience and service. We told our waiter that we needed to leave on time for the show and we he made it happen. Highly recommended.
Great as always. Service is great, look forward to our next visit
Good food, staff are friendly and service is good. Glad to dine there. Will certainly return to dine.
Hi, i generally love it at the Hilton ....and the last four times i have my favourite dish ...the crab omelette with the miso broth !So was devastated that you had changed it somewhat .....the new variation is not a patch on the original and it was rather dry and bland....please bring it back!
Glass Brasserie never disappoints!! Great Atmosphere, Great Food (we had a 3 course meal and all dishes were a mouthwatering experience), awesome wine and cocktails (Rasmopolitan definitely my favourite at the moment). The barman and our waiter Harvey, both were happy and very attentive..
Yesterday night Very Special day. Because I say talk to my BF( Would you marry me..?) and he saying “ Yes..” This is Amazing Experience...
Lovely buffet breakfast and a good meeting spot. Table requests are considered.
No coffee service to be found. We ended up having to walk around with cups to find someone..
I booked 4 restaurants in the city 4 weeks in advance for a special occasion for my sisters 60th birthday I decided to go with Glass expecting quality food and a special dining experience.
our entrees were beautiful the staff were great however our main meals were extremely disappointing
we all ordered the gnocchi as is a favorite of my sisters it was extremely oily and soggy to the point she could not eat it. when our waiter realised we weren't eating our meals he asked if everything was ok we were extremely embarrassed to complain .
our waiter could see our complaint was valid and we were refunded our main meals.
Dinner at your restaurant was one of the highlights I had for my sisters birthday weekend away we don't often get the the opportunity to eat out in the city together.
I would much rather have walked away with a great dining experience than money in my pocket
we decided to skip dessert and go to back to our motel for coffee and dessert.
I was so embarrassed as this was my treat for my sister.
on this occasion im afraid I picked the wrong restaurant.
Very good night. Was concerned the restaurant may not have had many people there but that turned out not to have happened. Service was balanced and we where not rushed in our meal. Our only concern was that the menu in one case did not represent what was served.
Thank you for wonderful dinner.
Visited the place for my mother-in-law's birthday during our trip to Sydney.(from Korea)
Really liked the glass wine, which probably was collector reserve shiraz. It really nicely went with stakes.
There was a manger who was lecturing the staff and I was waiting to place an extra order. He saw me and asked me to wait with rude hand gestures.
I would rather show staff how to serve customer.
I still left a tip for staffs but floor manager shouldn’t be a manger there
Excellent experience and high quality meal
The food was great and we had a wonderful time. Love to come back
Great to see Hilton has a small but great selection of vegetarian and vegan options.
The vegan mushroom risotto was so so though. Wouldn't recommend it
The vegan ravioli however, was delicious
My Wife and I go to Glass every wedding anniversary, it never disappoints.
Fantastic place for a special occassion
We went there recently for a birthday dinner and had a magnificent time. Great food, fine wine and even bought one of Luke's books to read the wonderful recipes he has created on the menu.
Best restaurant I have dinned at this year. The food is deliciously balanced and the portion is super filling. The price is perfect!
A very enjoyable dining experience. The waiters were attentive and friendly with good recommendations for both food and wine. The atmosphere was more casual than I had expected and that made it a more enjoyable evening with some great background music. The food was on point and I would love to come back for more Kingfish ...delightful.
A great place for a special occasion as ours was. Fabulous food not a huge selection but enough for you to have a good selection. Also the option of a degustation menu if you want something very special. Will definitely go again. Great value for a night out.
We had a fabulous evening with friends on Saturday. Food was amazing as we expected. Service was to match. Trying to think of another excuse so we can visit again sooner than later !
I think I chose incorrectly with the entree and the main as the vegan samosas were nearly the same and the vegan ravioli. Next time I’d choose the salad entree. I also filled up on the bread as it took a little while for the food to come out. It was really great to have a dessert option as many restaurants don’t have a vegan dessert option. The food was beautifully presented and the wine was good.
Breakfast at the Glass Brasserie was outstanding! The serving sizes from the A la carte menu are great in size and value for money! If you would like a special and quite place away from the hustle and bustle of the morning traffic, this is the place to be!
I always enjoy Glass Brasserie for it great food and service. I there dine with friends whenever I am in the CBD. I can't think of a better place to enjoy excellent food and camaraderie. Thank you to Luke Mangan and his excellent staff!
