We ate at Hickory during an overnight stay at Nicewonder Vineyard and Winery and were really impressed by the new menu. We had the bone in pork chop which we thought was well prepared with good flavor. Our server, Rain, was both attentive and knowledgeable. We were also surprised at the cost of the meal. It was a great value for the experience. We will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal and unique environment.

we were pleasantly surprised at Hickory! I just googled good restaurants near Bristol and it came up! Keep in mind that Hickory doesn’t come up in maps- you have to put in Nicewonder Winery. Our meal was delicious and I’d love to go back!

The staff was wonderful but service was slow. Had the so called chicken pot pie with no crust thus chicken stew. The trout would have been delicious but far too much was done with what should have been a wonderful fish served simply. Trying too hard to be too fancy.

We were seated in the main room where the bar is located, as we had 5 ppl and other rooms seemed to only seat 2-4, which was fine but the ambiance was not the same or cozy as other rooms bc we had brighter lighting, which we asked the server if he could adjust, which he did, then the host came by and changed the en back to bright, saying she can’t have them dinner as we preferred. The table and my seat had crumbs that I had to brush off before sitting. Lack of attention to detail of cleaning here. I ordered the catfish entree and it was excessively battered and overcooked. Burnt edges and batter just fell off and was inedible. Peas underneath fish were undercooked. Another guest at my table had chicken pot pie and her carrots and peas were also undercooked. Did not bother to say anything as it took too long to get the food as it was. Ate at this restaurant for breakfast twice the same weekend we stayed at Nicewonder (out of convenience) and unfortunately our experiences here were very underwhelming. As a server for 15 years I know what it’s like to work in restaurants and can have compassion and patience but the lack of care or urgency to do their job from getting the order correct, to running hot food from kitchen to table was negligent. Our server Rain for dinner did well, but the food was not anything to return for. The breakfast servers were kind but not good at their jobs.

Nice place - food was good but very very options other than breakfast stuff (it was lunch time) - staff was competent but slow and nowhere to be found when we first arrived

Overall very nice. Food was quite good, but not outstanding. Squash app was very nice. The corn was left out of the Elote pasta dish. The smothered chicken was OK, very hard crust. Ambience was off the charts, would love to stay for a weekend sometime.

My sister and I ate brunch/breakfast here and really enjoyed the food and experience. Both of us ordered eggs Benedict on a big fluffy handmade biscuit instead of an English muffin. It was AWESOME and has spoiled us forever. Our server was very attentive, so we were very pleased. This inn and winery is a lovely place to visit. Highly recommend it.
