Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant - Hythe
Food was good. My guests enjoyed there’s but I was abit disappointed, quite bland starter for Asian crab cakes and main wasn’t much better. Great service from a young man though and the ambience was great.
Excellent! Highly recommended. Cannot find fault with any aspect of our visit.
Excellent food, oysters, cocktails, professionally served. Beautiful location right on the beach.
We’ve visited this restaurant many times over recent years - the food is always good and the service excellent. It’s not the cheapest evening out but with good food and a great view it’s well worth it.
Good food, fab location. Were very short staffed, but coped well.
Me and My partner had a dinner booked at Hythe Bay for a birthday, which we booked 3 weeks before our visit. We requested a seat by the window and our request was not fulfilled. We were then informed that they had run out of half the menu making our selection very limited. My personal view is, if you know you have evening reservations, you ensure you have enough food to feed those guest. However, the food we did have was nice just a shame the menu was extremely limited.
Great food, excellent service and prime location. Thank you Hythe Bay, we’ll be back soon!
Great location and ambiance. Thought the Thai green curry was not really authentic. The fish pie we had was fine but a bit watery. Starters and sweets were great and the service fabulous!
Had a wonderful dinner, can’t fault the view, service or food. Great choice of meals on the menu had it hard to pick, and once the food arrived it did not last very long. Fresh, vibrant and tasty.
Lovely meal for Father’s Day, really enjoyed the food and service was great too.
We found this restaurant on the off chance as we were staying at a nearby hotel .... we have found a little gem
Lovely to sit at a table and look out across the sea. A good range of dishes to choose from and they cater for your meat eating friends too !
Hythe Bay set in a perfect location in Hythe, on the beach front, with no other competition. Monday night (May bank holiday) we visited during our week long holiday, a perfect meal. We were shown to our seats by the maitre d, our drinks order taken and quickly delivered, his service was extremely professional and left us with a good feeling of where we’d chosen to dine. A waiter was with us immediately and the food was ordered. I cannot fault anything, the food was delicious especially the complimentary smoked mackerel pate and warm rolls! We all ordered beer battered cod for mains, which was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend. A very enjoyable evening the restaurant whilst not full was busy. The views of the beach are beautiful from the restaurant. We left with a good feeling and that we would come again!Well after singing its praises, my brother joined us for a few days and we raved about our “Hythe Bay”experience! Not to miss out we booked a table for the Thursday of the same week. What a contrast, a different maitre d, who was busy wiping tables adjacent to us in an almost empty restaurant! 15 minutes we were sat at our table, no drinks order, no food order! This was very embarrassing considering how we’d raved about our previous visit the same week! After waiting 15 minutes I called the maitre d over and asked to order drinks, he did take our order, but the service was someone lacking in customer enticement, completely flat and a need to move onto his next chore! He did however take our food order after bringing the drinks. The food was again delicious and we could not fault it. But the initial feeling of bad service had tainted our enjoyment of the evening and unfortunately we felt very left down by this experience. Bring back the maitre d from Monday night I say!Anyone can have a bad day. Funny how the best service was when the restaurant was full!
We enjoyed our meal at the Hythe Bay the fish was very good but as it is their specialty you would expect nothing less. The wine was reasonably priced and complimented the meal
This was my first visit. The restaurant was recommended by my friend. We were there for lunch. The selection on the menu was good and varied. I will definitely be going back, probably for dinner.
We had a very enjoyable meal. The service was impeccable - happy service staff and keen to ensure everything was OK. The food and drink was of good quality and the ambience was fine. The restaurant was not full and had it been the noise level might have been greater. Overall a good dining experience.
Delicious sea bass worthy of Masterchef! Panko prawns with rice and mango - excellent.
Visited for the 2nd time while on holiday, Great food with very good service. We had table by the window over looking the sea.
Once seated our waiter informed us that over half of the main courses on the menu were unavailable. Surely this news should really have been given by the manager as we arrived?
In addition there was no offer made of a free drink (or anything at all) to make up for this.
Having said that, we were able to choose from the limited options remaining and had an enjoyable meal, being well looked after.
A difficult situation that could have been handled a little better by the manager on duty.
Lovey food with an exceptionally good gluten free menu. Lovely service, nice atmosphere. Only disappointment was the puddings but we still ate them!
Great visit. Our waiter was lovely - couldn't have done enough for us and the children.
Food is of a high standard and you csnt fault the setting - but you do pay for it!!
The restaurant was very quiet on this occasion. Service was pleasant and efficient. The food was enjoyed by everyone.
A lovely find in Hythe . Great food great service and excellent value
Food was excellent. We both had the coconut prawns for starters and We bothvthoughtvthey were excellent.
Beautiful location overlooking the sea. Lovely restaurant. Tastefully decorated. Staff very attentive. The best varied fish and seafood that I have come across. Prices are very reasonable. Good selection of wines and beers. Worth the effort to visit.
We were returning customers, with friends. 3 out of 4 of us had issues with our main course. The manager said that we'd been asked about our food soon after it'd been served. We weren't aware of this, and would have said something if we'd been asked. I'm pleased to say, that the starters and the desserts were delicious. We weren't charged for the problem dishes. A little disappointing.
