Iki-jime, Seafood by Vue
Fabulous food supported by first class service. A pleasure
Good food, great service but a little lacking in atmosphere. Overall the meal was nice, really disappointing with the oysters but everything else was really nice.
The decor was tired and knocked about. Hard edges and no atmosphere. Only a few other patrons. Looked like it was unloved.
Interesting, creative cuisine in an atmospheric space (we were in the bar - the dining room looked less interesting). Attentive service with a casual vibe. On the expensive side but worth it.
Extremely overpriced! Food is less than average! Never again!
The menu was not clear about the description of the food. We ordered the prawn and fish katsu and did not expect to get a katsu sando which was quite average. Apart from that the rest of the food we ordered was ok but the customer service was great.
As usual everything was impeccable, great food, charming staff & the wine I love to drink. Can’t wait until I return. Great job Iki Jime team
Delicious food, lovely wine, and attentive staff. Didn’t think we ordered enough but we certainly did and couldn’t finish it all. Will be back again to try more!
The food was fantastic and the service staff was really understanding to my girlfriends requirements. Many additional efforts were made even when we didn’t ask. Thanks again amazing experience will recommend !!
Good service, nice place, one or two great dishes amongst some fairly ordinary stuff, in one case a dish no one could really say anything good about.... fish generally overdone. But very well presented and innovative, interesting too. Fresh produce certainly.
Great food, attentive waiters, intelligent recommendations,
Food was interesting, lovely presentation and simply delicious.
It’s been a while and as expected David Wilson , a master in this scene and the food was prepared with love and finesse!
Barramundi was a winner!
And the desert....tar tar tin.....better than words can describe!
A real treat!
Wow , thank you so much for such a memorable dining experience, the food , service , everything was amazing and when there was no rose by the glass you opened a bottle for us !!! Now that is service !
We will be back next time in Melbourne love from 2 Kiwis xx
Not cheap, but brilliant service, food and atmosphere.
Absolutely loved it and will go back.
All the dishes we ordered were amazing. Service was faultless. A bit pricey but worth it
What a fabulous experience for the seafood lover. 'Seas the Day' is a fantastic food adventure where the food is not always what is seems and just an amazing way to try some of everything the wonderful chefs have to offer. The Tatan is not to be missed! The waiters were so knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back.
Service was terrible , staff focus on the bar and not the restaurant!
Very slow food service as well
I don’t recommend unless you just eat in bar then you might get better service
Lovely late night dinner. Amazing fresh seafood with beautiful flavours.
We were disappointed with our experience at Ikejime. The restaurant smelt like old oil from a really bad fish and chip shop.
The king fish, barramundi and the gnocchi dish were delicious but The rest of the meals were a huge let down and basically tasted bland. Our pana cotta was as runny as soup and we had to send it back and the soufflé was terrible (chef explained they had some sort of disaster with it but proceeded to serve it?)
Expected more from a Vue restaurant!
We went on a quiet Tuesday night and the space was intimate with just a few other diners. We were seated in front of the kitchen and could watch the oysters being freshly shucked and other dishes being expertly prepared.
Service was great. We ordered several small dishes to share and the waiter recommended just the right amount. The eel dish was a standout although everything was amazing. We're not dessert people but decided to try the chocolate souffle and tart tatin - both delicious!
We ordered the 'Seas the Day' tasting menu, which turned out to be too much - 3 desserts!!!
Definitely try the ceviche, the smoked eel, the moreton bay tart and the snapper with miso
Food quality and service was excellent but at these prices the choices would be enhanced with some form of accompaniments with the meal.
Loved it from start to end. Food was superb and service impeccable. Will definitely go back soon.
Great food , nice environment. Best seafood restaurant
Stunning food and environmentally friendly.
Amazing seafood dinner. Every dish was delicious. Loved the fish and chips and the prawn cocktail, but the standout dish was the grilled kingfish. One of the best fish I've ever eaten.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Fabulous and interesting food and a great wine list with knowledgeable sommelier. Perfect dinner
Very disappointing. Made a booking for my partners birthday and was stuck in a corner alongside 2 other couple's. Super tight space with barely enough room to get out. Could here every word the table next to us was saying.
Meanwhile large tables were spaced out in front of the kitchen pass. This made no sense.
The feed me menu is not good value. Most dishes seemed pre prepared and quality nowhere near fitting of the price.
Beautiful fish as modern food but not overdone. Best tart tartin we’ve ever had.
The food was underwhelming for the price you pay. We were quite disappointed with some of the fusion dishes such as the Katsu. Presentation was excellent. Staff were incredibly friendly.
Beyond brilliant. We loved every single morsel.
Perfect for fish lovers, portions very small though but then you do get to try a lot! Quiet enough to talk to each other and staff were very knowledgeable and prompt in re filling glasses etc, the wine list is impressive and the bar area lovely for a pre or post dinner drink.
Amazing flavour and fresh
Had the Good Friday special menu which was great value. Service was a little hit and miss and being in the smaller section of the restaurant lacked some ambiance. Food was lovely though.
The food, especially the shellfish was excellent. Service too was attentive.
Only slight negative was the chips. It was a tad too salty.
This Good Friday lunch was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with very tasty food and wonderful service in a pleasant environment.
Such amazing seafood. Every dish was balanced, full of flavour and perfectly presented. Highly recommended.
Absolutely loved our dining experience. Food was sensational and location fantastic, sexy Melbourne dining vibes, amazing food, excellent cocktails and the staff couldn’t do enough to cater for our needs!
We shared several small plates so that we could try more options. Oysters from 3 different life cycles. Beautifully presented food with chefs creative spin on classics like prawn cocktail. Would have loved to try the Octopus but it was all sold out. Pear tarte tatin was amazing! We couldn’t fault any of the dishes. The staff were excellent and In the words of Manu from Masterchef “ For zis I give you... a Ten”. Will definitely be back.
The food was, by enlarge, exceptional.
The sommelier paired drinks with the food perfectly.
