WE'RE BACK! We are finally open at our new location! Chef Franco Barone has perfected an extended menu and we are very excited to share our new cozy Classic Ristorante.

Family-owned Italian restaurant in Newport Beach that feels like you stumbled into someone’s home kitchen. 🇮🇹 📍 il Barone Ristorante 6700 West Coast Highway Newport Beach, California Owned by Donatella, with her husband as the chef 👨‍🍳, everything is made in-house, including the breads and fresh pasta (they even supply pasta to other restaurants!!). What we ordered: • Gnocchi ripieni di formaggi • Lasagna • Radiatori al funghi e salsiccia • Pepperoni pizza • Facci ri Veccia (il Barone specialty) If you love cheesy, rich, classic yet subtly unique dishes, the Facci ri Veccia is a must. Donatella and family are the quintessential definition of hospitality. Amazing handmade pastas. Amazing offering of meat and fish. And the desserts bring me back to my childhood. Their love goes beyond the food. They take care to know all of their guests and quickly you realize you are family too. I feel completely at home every time I visit. Love them like family. ❤️

Great neighborhood restaurant, NEW location for il Barone. Crazy delicious breads, FABULOUS specials, must try Ribeye Milanese enough for two, staff attentive and informative, ⭐️Francesco⭐️, authentic food in very pleasant atmosphere, just a little noisy, installation of acoustic room panel kits would solve this negative point. A place you always want to come back for outstanding food. Highly recommend.

This is a genuine Italian restaurant owned and run by Italians. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Francesco, our server, had great recommendations. One of which was the special appetizer that had thinly sliced watermelon, beets, pears and prosciutto. Very good. The bread is freshly baked and delicious in their olive oil and balsamic vinegar. They offered a ribeye Milanese that was a huge portion. Enough for 2 people if you want to split it. The Gnocchi was perfect: fluffy and authentic as it was made of potato flour. Not too doughy nor dense. Their wine selection is also nice, though they specialize in bottles. They did offer a few glass offerings, if you’re interested. Overall, a great dinner experience.

Most everything on the menu was authentic Italian and delicious!! Pizza dough was yummy and our bruschetta to die for. Our server was fantastic and very attentive Only disappointment is that the ball of cheese on our pizza was supposed to be & was passed off as burrata and it was 100% not (many people would never have known) As well for a Sicilian Italian experience the cannoli filling was NOT good. We would certainly return :)

Fabulous dining experience from the burrata with prosciutto to the fresh swordfish and perfectly prepared pasta with just the right amount of sauce to the delicious chocolate dessert. Service is always exceptional.

This has become our new favorite. A gem of a neighborhood restaurant with the most incredible Italian food and seafood. The limoncello martini is the perfect way to end the evening. The Barone family will make you feel at home.
