Located at Atherton Mill in Charlotte's historic South End neighborhood, Indaco (Italian for "indigo") serves Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant's menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can seat approximately 85 guests inside for a casual night of food and drinks. The wine list is focused on affordable Italian varietals, the Gin & Tonic cocktail is on tap, and the fresh sodas are made in-house. Large windows fill the restaurant with natural light that reflects off the white subway tile, wood accents and butcher block tables. An open kitchen invites guests to keep an eye on the action while enjoying the sights and smells of Italian cooking. During warmer months, a 44-seat patio invites guests to dine al fresco.

    We went to Indaco for brunch. The food was good but not excellent, the portions were generous, the service was perfect, and the outdoor patio was very pleasant. All in all we had a nice meal but it was expensive for what we got, and the brunch menu was quite limited.

    The food was amazing , great service . We set outside and enjoyed beautiful weather with a glass of Bellini . The burrata toast was to die for . I also recommend the shrimp and polenta . Actually you can't go wrong with anything on the menu .

    Pizza is not as good as I remembered it being last year. Waiter was so soft spoken could barely hear him. Margaritas were $20!! More expensive than a pizza!! How does that happen?

    what can I say? Everything was top-notch. It's a rustic yet stylish Italian restaurant with a modern twist. Large windows and loft-style spaces are already my weakness since it has the vibe of a living room. Vibrant and lively. I tried burrata (super fresh), and octopus (perfectly cooked with a nice chard outside), and the peach pizza is completely out of the box. In the meantime, It's hard to find a whole fish that's roasted in wood wood-burning pizza oven and they simply nailed it with Branzino. A special thanks to Liz, Michael, Hannah, Carson, John, and Justin. They all made, my friend's night memorable. Thank you, Indaco Charlotte. Regards Ben

    Such a wonderful experience! From when we were greeted at the door to when we left. We celebrated our anniversary and every person who came to our table acknowledged it. The roasted artichokes are out of this world. Of course, the pizza and pasta were amazing. 10/10

    Indaco is one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston and I’m so happy to have them closer to home. I absolutely love the food and atmosphere here. I have not ever had a bad experience and the Charlotte location was spot on!

    I have really grown to enjoy this restaurant and now that I've ordered a good bit from the menu, over several visits, there's nothing that wasn't delicious. I would have liked a bit more salad dressing on our salad, but I'm sure if I had asked, they would have provided. The pizza is amazing - the crust is perfect and the pasta dishes were unique in a very good way. We loved the sides (the potatoes have a great kick) and the muscles! Would highly recommend!

    The focaccia, sopresseta pizza, desserts, and basically everything we ordered was delicious. We ate outdoors and were comfortable although it was very warm out (unavoidable).

    What an impression Indaco made on my family's first visit! We were celebrating our 24 yr old daughter's birthday and she had been wanting to try Indaco. I mentioned it in the OpenTable reservation request, and the manager and staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my daughter (and us) feel special from the moment we walked in to the time we left. The food was exceptional, and the service and hospitality were unmatched! Indaco will forever have THIS family as loyal customers! ;)

    The polpette and focaccia are always a must! I can never pass up the spicy soppressata pizza, one of my all time favorites. It was my first time trying the white beans with pesto and parmesan and it was even better than we could’ve expected. However, nothing can top the outstanding service! Kiera has the most kind and outgoing personality. This, along with her extensive menu knowledge, made our dining experience truly spectacular! As if she crafted the perfect date night for us. We will definitely be returning!

    Took 6 out-of-town colleagues here for dinner. Table was ready when we arrived at 7pm. The table was located at the far back of the second floor. No view and four of us were seated on a banquette against the wall with one entry way in. We developed a system to use the bathroom at the same time so that people weren't constantly getting up to let someone else out of the seating row. The service was SLOW. Our waitress was very sweet but would disappear for long durations. Not sure if she had tables downstairs or outside as well as ours. Took a while to get our drinks and then the appetizers. Focaccia was lovely but the hit of the entire meal was the Italian Salad. It was fresh, delicious and the dressing was divine. Dinner (some had pasta, one had the fish of the day, I had the white pizza) was fine. No one complained but no one was raving. It would take a lot to get me back to Indaco with so many other Italian spots in Charlotte.

    I was very surprised by the degree to which I enjoy the entrées. We had two totally different types, and both were outstanding. We had to take a late reservation, so I assume it would have been much louder otherwise. I look forward to dining there again. I also had a wonderful, creative lavender cocktail  which was very refreshing and something I would also love to have again.

    This was one of the first restaurants where we dined when we moved to Charlotte in 2020 and it's still at the top of our list. The food and signature cocktails are always delicious. I love the authentic Neapolitan pizzas that you can watch being expertly made. The focaccia bread is out of this world!

    Delicious. We went on the last day of Queen City Feast restaurant week. We had a ton of food and all of it was wonderful. Our server, Kiera was delightful, knowledgeable, and very attentive.

    Always a good meal at indaco! We ended up doing the Queens Feast because it was such a good deal! Basically their entire menu available. Our server Carson was very attentive and friendly.

    The appetizers for restaurant week were phenomenal. We got the burrata and the peach pizza. What a start! Everything was good, and our server, Kira, was terrific! She was very patient, explained everything available in great detail, and did everything she could to make our experience at Indaco one we would cherish.

    I think with it being queens feast the kitchen just got backed up because we were sitting there for two hours most of the time waiting for the next course. With that aside the food was outstanding and would definitely recommend wine Wednesday’s and a pizza. Great value for the location and food quality.

    My boyfriend and I had a spontaneous date night at Indaco while they were participating in restaurant week, and had been told we could order off the normal menu prior to arriving at the restaurant. Once we went to order our entree’s, the waitress said otherwise, but went to ask the Chef for us. There had been miscommunication on their end initially, but the chef offered to still make the meal for us since he had all the ingredients for (Bucatini Nero) on hand. I definitely would’ve just ordered off the restaurant week menu otherwise, but it was so kind and accommodating of them. My boyfriend and I were very impressed, the meal was delicious! We have eaten at a handful of Italian spots in Charlotte, and this was one of the best dishes we’ve had. Not to mention, Great service and food are hard to come by now at restaurants these days. Thank you again!! :)

    Loved the octopus, peach pizza, and pasta dishes. We visited during restaurant week. Dessert was just ok. We’d go back again, though. They use a real wood burning oven for pizzas.

    The Charleston location is far superior. We arrived for reservations at opening and yet booths, chairs and table were dirty. Service is lacking. Nonchalant attitudes with no explanation of the restaurant and menu. Meatballs had good flavor, but were not tender or juicy. Little Gem salad tasted like vinegar. Awesome experience with unbelievable tasting food in Charleston. This location was a letdown.
