JaK’s Grill is a neighborhood steakhouse. We keep it simple: quality beef, seafood, seasonal produce, plates with some weight to them, and the best in service and hospitality. Nothing flashy; just a menu built around value and consistency. We've been part of West Seattle and Issaquah for nearly 30 years, and we’re still here doing what we do. Reservations are a good idea, but not required.

Jak's is a West Seattle staple, I was really looking forward to visiting its new location. Unfortunately, much of what made this place special seems to have been lost in the move. The original restaurant had an intimate, cozy, lounge-like atmosphere that made it feel like a special night out. The new location is a large, open space that feels more like a Cheesecake Factory than the charming neighborhood steakhouse we once loved. Televisions line the bar, with no separation between the bar and dining areas, taking away from what used to be a warm, sophisticated dining experience. I understand that restaurants face rising costs, but when you're charging fine-dining prices, the entire experience should reflect that. The food was mediocre at best. It's disappointing to see a longtime West Seattle favorite lose so much of its personality. I really wanted to love the new location, but I left missing the old one.

Another great brunch at Jak’s! We all enjoyed our meals, two country fried steaks and a veggie scramble with sausage! Let’s not forget the potato pancakes that are the best! Our server, Connor, was excellant!

Very expensive, and the "added 5% service fee" didn't make sense to us, since it doesn't apply to gratuity. With the cost of living what it is today, restaurants like this have a lot to answer for.

We had a fantastic dining experience! Every dish was delicious, and Conner’s attentive service was truly appreciated. The absolute highlight, however, was discovering that Jak's has restored a few of our old favorites to the menu.

Jak's used to be so good! We are long-time customers of many, many years. We took a break when our favorite one closed, and found out last night that there have been some changes to the menu. I think that the prices are probably still reasonable for a good steak (which they were), but $30 for two undercooked crab cakes? We ordered two appetizers and then a side of broccolini for the table, as well as 4 meals. A bit of bread with exactly four small wedges was delivered to us before we got started. Three of us ordered steak meals that comes with a salad, a steak and a potato side plus some weird cut up carrots (ick). The salads were forgotten, so when our server came by during our main course, we mentioned it. She was sorry, and then said do we still want them? Um, yes we did. The salads were good, just very late. I ordered halibut and there were 4 skinny pieces of asparagus underneath it. Asparagus is expensive in the stores, so you could just swap it out for another vegetable, to avoid making the meal seem so pathetic. The mashed potatoes serving was smallish and still in the shape of a scoop. The potato pancakes were a bit undercooked, thick and mushy, just like the crab cakes. We were celebrating two October birthdays. They didn't even offer a little scoop of ice cream for our guests at the end, like most upscale restaurants do. Why ask if we are celebrating something? After tip, the bill was $480, which included 3 alcoholic drinks. I guess Jak's is not such a great deal anymore, for what we got. As we left, we were all in ok moods, but as I have been thinking it over all the next day, wow. What a disappointment.
