Kakure (隠) is a Japanese restaurant specializing in traditional Japanese-eccentric menu. Featuring Ginza-style sushi using red vinegar with ingredients handpicked by an appointed individual buyer at Toyosu that delivered to Hong Kong daily and live seafood tanks in the restaurant, Kakure offers a quality dining experience with its premium sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki and woshu menu.

Another highlight of Kakure is the cocktail bar serving more than 120 whiskeys and cocktails from Japan to other parts of the world, from new to rare and vintage collection in 1970-80s.

Inspired by busy restaurants dotted around Ginza Tokyo, Kakure’s design is minimal yet polished with wood panels in light brown.

Seems like they are rushing to get off from work. Keep asking to collect the tray when I had hardly finished. No more tea refilling and was trying to make sure you don’t sit around to chat. By the way, that was just 13:45, after 30 minutes of meal time. Won’t go again.

The restaurant was NOT open for business on the day I booked the table. We only found out when we got there. Yet OpenTable took our booking as if it was open. Highly unsatisfactory.

Not worth the money at all, executive lunch vibe, went to try their teppanyaki set. Don't come here for gourmet tempura if that's what you are looking for. Poor menu with random fried vegetables as second course (what?), tiny meat portions, and comes with a plain rice (not even fried rice, what again?), the special or deluxe set doesn't even come with coffee tea or dessert. Flavours are nothing special at all. Only good thing was the service, staff were attentive.

The food is good (but they used too much salt for my taste, which left me feeling thirsty for the rest of the day) and we were pleased to be seated in a small room, away from the noise. However, because we were in this separate room the staff wasn't paying too much attention to us (such as checking whether we were ready to order or pay). Overall, I found it was overpriced.

Great food. Poor service. Table not cleared, plate not replaced, soy sauce not topped up, had to ask for wine to be poured. An expensive restaurant but not really value for money if you weigh up the food/Service equation.

Unexpected combinations of ingredients. Really fresh sashimi, making it good value for money. One course was a Japanese oyster wrapped with wagyu and a topping of uni caviar - the ultimate symphony of flavors. For the hot dish, we were offered fried Japanese chicken, which was juicy and tender. One more thing - their Japan-style cocktail was extraordinary!

Food was delicous but table much too small and close together. Not only could you not hear the person seated across the table from you but an errant elbow from the customer next to me knocked a cup full of hot tea which sent ceramic shards and hot tea all over my leg. The service was very rushed with waiters clearing plates before we had finished and bringing all of my set lunch set a good 15 minutes before any of my lunch partners had arrived. Compliments to the chef but the front of house and dining room design team should reflect on how to improve so that the service and ambience match the price.

While the food was quite fresh and good the painful service made it impossible to enjoy. We waited 1.5 hrs for beef rice and repeatedly requested updates on where it was. The disjointed service had people eating courses out of order, fails on delivering orders to wrong person was frustrating and overall lack of knowledge of wait staff, lack of items on menu etc made a really terrible experience. The seemingly disregard for customer service was insulting. While the bar is lovely, the dining room is designed like a cafeteria. For the price there are way better options.

Last minutes booking around 8:45. I heard about this new Japanese restaurant from a colleague who especially recommended the awesome bar, thought I will give it a try today. Kakure’s location is quite hidden, just off the bridge from Alexandra house towards Prince Building. The entrance was stunning with a beautiful “Noren” in the entrance. If the staff hadn’t asked me if I would like to have a drink, I would have missed the bar totally. The bar is beautifully decorated, discreet n busy. But it’s kinda late, I will properly visit next time and went straight to the restaurant. The restaurant had a sushi counter as well as a teppanyaki counter. I went for the teppanyaki counter as my friend is craving for a nice Beef. Was not disappointed at all, the Hida wagyu Beef was seared perfectly, teppanyaki chef was friendly n knowledgeable. The good thing about Kakure is that even I was sitting in the Teppan counter, I am not limited with choices, so we went for some sushi as well. Ingredients is obviously top notch. Highly recommend this place.

Coming highly recommended by a friend, this new restaurant at Central is fully packed. I had to make a reservation 3 days in advance! I assumed that this was a western-fusion Japanese restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that I could have a taste of traditional Japanese cuisine there. I ordered a chicken pot, and my friend had sushi. The service staff was very kind and gave us a detailed introduction to the dishes.

Tried the lunch before, went back for dinner this time. & I have chosen to try out their Sushi Omakase. Manager introduced me to their Sushi Chef Araki San, very jolly & professional sushi master. The 2 hour (ish) was very enjoyable n definitely my companion was very delighted. The staff who worked in the sushi bar was obviously well trained n attentive. Will try their teppanyaki next time.

Overpriced and the level of service is not what one would expect with its location and price. Not particularly impressed by the food, many nicer Japanese restaurants nearby charging similar price. Staff not friendly or professional, was in a rush to collect plates.
