The person who gave you water etc was a little over the top. The came out of the kitchen and hit my friends arm making tea spill on the table me and in my vegetables with ice cubes. We got the stuff up and wiped the table. That person never offered to clean it up. The cook was very nice and good but not as entertaining as some. He did ask if we were ok

Food was decent, the portions seem smaller. Shrimp and steak were cooked well but the chicken was not good. Service was terribly slow and not good. There were multiple times we had no water, or other drinks. We waited 20 minutes for someone to pickup our check before we complained.

The food is always outstanding! Our server on the other hand seemed to be too busy or just kept disappearing - it was so difficult to get drink refills and other help. Also, extremely hot even understanding that there are cooking tables but it was seriously so hard to deal with the heat!

Food was excellent as usual and our server was extremely attentive but appeared to be rushing us out. As soon as the chef served our food, she delivered the check! She said 'no rush', but then she came back not even 5 minutes later when we had taken the first few bites and asked if the check was ready with a credit card. Then she brought to-go boxes! We had maybe taken two bites. Our reservation was at 6:00 pm so it's not like it was the last table and she was trying to get home! Everything else was top notch, but the rushing out feeling by the server was unsettling.

We've gone to this restaurant several times over the years. I'm not sure if they are under staffed but it took an incredibly long time for our chef to come. It also took a long time to get the cocktail and my soup. The waiter had no room on his tray for mine and said he would be right back. He did come back but was not quick. This was a Wednesday so not an overly busy night.

We were with guests that have never been before with 2 children that we told how the chef puts on a really fun show with fire and other entertaining cooking fun things. Our chef did nothing entertaining and was very dull and did not make our experience very enjoyable. The food portion sizes have also seemed to gotten smaller and just overall a very blaw experience.

I eat here once or twice a month and it’s always fantastic. Cooks are very fun to watch and they always cook the food well. I went yesterday at lunch time and had Nelson as the cook, he was awesome!!!

My reservation was at 6:30 I arrived at 6 the hostess acted like she couldn’t find my reservation. There were several people without reservations that were sat before me. I was not put at a table until 6:45 then I waited another 20-30 minutes before the table was full and the chef came to start cooking.

Our server, Kevin, wasn't on top of his game. We had to remind him twice about our drink orders. He had one of the salad dressing orders wrong. He was nowhere to be found twice and our chef actually had to help locate him. The food was as delicious as ever. We were celebrating two birthdays which we told Kevin about and nothing was done. He needs more training or needs to work somewhere else. At these prices customers expect better service than we had.

I have been going to KANKI for 30 years or more and it’s been about 10 years since my last visit. I wasn’t impressed at all with our server as he was VERY slow at even coming to the table to start and to take drink orders. We waited the better part of 40 minutes waiting for our server. Once we finally ordered, it was an another 40-50 minutes before the chef arrived to cook. He did ZERO tricks and had no personality at all. In fact he spilled BOTH sauces as he filled my mothers ginger sauce and yum yum sauce. He literally left the spill sitting there right in front of my mothers dinner plate. All of the other tables around us seemed to be enjoying the “show”, but not our table. Our chef only acknowledged to verify each of our orders. We didn’t even get to see flames NOR did we see the onion volcano!! Also, they give you FORK wrapped up in your napkin and that is all. No knife, nothing. The fork they did give us was as cheap and thin as the forks I remember at Boy Scout Camp and institutional kitchens. It bens and is sharp to the hand. They should totally invest in STRONG sturdy silverware. All in all, the experience was bad enough that it will probably be another 10 years or more before I go again and that’s only if I HAVE to for someone’s birthday or something. Really really disappointed in KANKI as I spoke so highly about it to my relatives in town but NONE of them were impressed. The food quality and taste was nothing to write home about. I get better Hibachi food at other local Japanese Steakhouses but that should NOT be the case since KANKI is a Triangle staple.

The last two or three times my family and I have been there we have run out of drink, no attempt was made to refill our glass until it was almost time to leave. We always have to ask for more ice because they don’t give you enough ice to keep the great cold. My family and I really enjoy coming there but the service is not like it used to be.

We came here for my husband's birthday and other party members were struggling to find parking but the hosts were super understanding and worked with us. Our chef was AMAZING and funny and the food was good, I just wished we got a little more of the meat servings. Overall it was a great experience and my husband loved it. We will be visiting KANKi again.

The food was great the cook was friendly . I was very disappointed in the waitress for our table . She kept wasting stuff , she did not offer refills not once to anyone at the table and the cook had to go find her to make her aware and when she did come she asked us did we need her as if she was puzzled . My son and a little girl was there for a celebration and they were not even acknowledged. My son was there for a graduation which I know they can’t do too much with that but the little girl had a birthday even with a birthday sash on her and nothing was done …I felt bad , Especially when the next table behind us had a celebration and they did something for her and she was an adult.

The food was excellent, the staff friendly and amazing, however myself and others at our table did moy receive the correct sushi orders. I took what they ended up giving me to avoid any trouble, but others requested the correct dishes. Additionally another guest had stolen my fiance's bag while we were getting up from the waiting area, and staff neither saw it or had anyone on hand to check the cameras. Still tipped and still plan to come back again!

Food and service were excellent. The only downsides were that the dining room was crowded and very loud, and our hibachi chef did not “perform” or interact with the table much at all, like we saw and heard at other tables. With 2 young children in our group that was a disappointment. The food was excellent though.

Second time coming alway want to put you at tables with no room. Wants to squeeze you in a table without enough elbow room sitting on top of one another . Sitting at the outside tables was just ok..not really hot. Not very happy with this restaurant 😒
