I always have a good experience at kanki. The chef was entertaining and had a nice personality. However, the entire meal from the hostess standpoint felt rushed.

I’ve been coming to this location since I was 5 for birthday dinners and I came back for my 29th birthday… I’m not sure what has happened in the last year but this was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at this location. To start our waiter with the neck tat was very abrupt (and a little rude) & hardly gave us any time to look at the menu, we felt extremely rushed. From there we ordered sushi, which was very good, but when our hibachi chef came out, it was an older man. There was 0 experience. Nothing of the typical “show” we’d usually get years prior. He rushed through the cooking, the portion sizes were significantly smaller, and the food tasted way more blander than I remember. He didn’t use lemon or hardly any seasoning. After he was finished, not even 2 minutes later, our waiter came out with boxes and asked how we wanted the check. Not to mention waited till the last second to even ask if we’re there for a special occasion. After that, the bussers came out and cleaned the table around us, while we were still trying to eat, and sat new dinnerware out. I was extremely disappointed in my experience here. I typically rave about Kanki to anyone new to the area, but after my experience today, I don’t think I’ll be coming back for a LONG time. Do better.

We enjoyed our chef and the food was delicious. Our server did add gratuity to our party of 6, but the server didn't tell us it was added to the check. We typically tip 20% or more and would have added extra to the 18% that was applied to the bill had it been mentioned that it was added. Overall, this was a very good experience and our chef was excellent, greatly entertaining and cooked deliciously.

Loved it! We have been coming here since my son was a baby and he wanted to celebrate at the same place before he left for Basic Training. Thank you for making yesterday special for him!

The server was very sweet and amazing but the cook was sloppy with the food. Did not share portions equally across the table with other customers. I ordered shrimp and chicken and received 3 shrimps while the other ppl who did not pay for shrimp got free samples.

Just wanted to make a suggestion, for the Chef that for the price we are paying the quantity is low, the portion of chicken is not sufficient and vegetables also, but too much rice.

We were disappointed for our bday girl. No show (we watched the other tables show :( Slow service, chicken was tuff and they have cut down on the protein portion. The diners at the other end of the table stayed on face time the entire meal...rude! The appetizers were great and the chilled glass and cold beer helped the situation. We've been coming here for 25 years! The staff can make or break the experience!
