At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

    This is our favourite place to come for a pre theatre. Delicious food, excellent value, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff that are attentive without being overbearing. We enjoyed every dish and the cocktails were delicious too. It’s nice that we weren’t rushed away from our table when we got carried away chatting!

    Staff are all lovely - explained everything well, and service was excellent. Food was very good - we were hoping that the sardine ragu that we had last time would make it onto the permanent menu but alas not at this time. The market menu is great value and everything was excellent. Highly recommended (especially if the sardine ragu makes a reappearance!!)

    Kelp never disappoints! Have been quite a few times now over the years since it opens and the menu is always exciting and we are always spoiled for choice. The market menu offers great value. Wonderful customer focussed staff help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to the whole team

    First visit, we will go back, not the cheapest, but we did have wine, coffee, a cocktail and a desert, over all very good, only negative was the kitchen staff going back and forward with plates etc. taking them down stairs to another kitchen area I assume, but not an issue if you had a different seat. We were asked for out table back after 1 hour 40 minutes, a bit early, but did mean I didn’t have another drink, which we might have done.

    First visit to Kelp and will most definitely be back. Food, service, ambiance and value for money were all outstanding. Will be telling all our friends about how good our visit was.
