   We hadden hier gereserveerd omdat dit volgens velen het beste restaurant in de buurt zou zijn. We hebben ook heerlijk gegeten! Goede ribeye en zeer smaakvol varkensvlees. De lokale wijn uit Volcano die op de kaart staat is niet heel bijzonder. De service was goed. Het toetje was ook erg lekker. Prijzen zijn redelijk voor de kwaliteit. Voor een goed diner in Volcano moet je hierheen!

   We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant. There were so many entrees to choose from and both of our selections were delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helped us choose our main course as well as an appetizer of "crispy brussel sprouts". The service was well paced and dinner was superb.

   We stayed at the lodge and it was super convenient to also eat at the restaurant. The food was outstanding. We first came for the happy hour and had some tremendous apps and cocktails. Then we came back for dinner and had two super dishes, snapper and lobster. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back again if ever going to the National Park. Great place to stay and eat after a long day of touring. Hot tub was great too.

   The Meal was a good average, but not outstanding (fish with vegetable). There ist relativly less space and a noisy surrounding (New Years Eve). The Wine was very good. The price ist in my opinion on a high level, but for European the prices in Hawaii are always rather high. The Service is very busy but nevertheless very friendly.

   Very nice place in Volcano Village! Nice lodge feel, very relaxing and excellent food. Good wine selection, and amazing desserts. Best place for miles around!

    Nice place, especially for the area. The service was the highlight as our waitress was very nice and attentive. Because of the wood floors & ceilings it can get loud - there was a group of several families totaling almost 30 people there when we were and they put all of the kids at one table and it was so loud we could barely hear the waitress explaining the specials. Fortunately they finished around the time our entrees arrived and it got much calmer. If you are looking for a nicer place for dinner near the Nation Park this fits the bill.

    $79 each for undercooked langostino, not lobster as on menu as it has no claws, undercooked potato, unidentified greens way salty, small seafood platter to share at a table of five, soup was passable, dessert was good. I had no idea from their website, which I checked when I made the reservation that this was the deal. We expected to have choices in price and didn’t want a starter or dessert as we were having both at our house. We were stuck with a big bill and not very good food. Felt sick that evening. Merry Christmas. We were too nice to make a stink but we will not return there again. Too bad, it was better under the previous owners.

    We gave three stars overall because our table wasn’t waited on for a half hour. It was Christmas Eve and busy but for this type of restaurant there was no excuse. The food was excellent but excellent service was also an expectation. When plates were cleared from the table we were asked to pass them without a please or thank you or a plate or plates were taken inappropriately from our table.

    This place is a class act! The menu is kinda limited , but very well presented as it is. Food is well prepared. The service is excellent. I'd like to an expansion of all menus, but I ain't complain'!

    We were looking for a place to dine while in Hilo and this restaurant popped up as being highly recommend based on reviews. We decided to give it a try and boy were we pleasantly surprised. It is a very cozy and intimate dining area located on beautifully manicured grounds. We checked in and were instantly greeted by a very friendly hostess who seated us immediately. The drinks with the sidecars were delicious and generous. The food was impeccably presented. My husband's ribeye was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the coconut carrot ginger soup was amazing, and the fresh catch was out of this world delicious. The bread warm and soft and yummy. A big shout out to Zack our server who wrapped up the whole dining experience with his approachability, friendliness, knowledge of the menu and overall great attitude and personality. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will most definitely be back to experience some other dishes. We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely recommend making reservations so as not to be disappointed as it is a smaller venue.

    Creatively-prepared fresh and local fish, and exceptional baked items (the gratis rolls before the meal, the desserts) by the pastry chef, Michael Moorhouse. Wouldn't mind a broader wine list with less of a markup, but solid cocktails and a decent local beer selection make up for that. A very nice place for an everyday meal, pau hana, or a special celebration.

    This was our second visit to Kilauea Lodge. It is now on our must-stops on our trips over to the Big Island. Service, food and the entire experience was amazing, including the wonderful young lady who helped us in the gift shop. We were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday, just as we had celebrated my 49th birthday here a year prior. You will not be disappointed. This is a wonderful place, in a wonderful community. If you are looking for a place to spend your tourist dollars, do it here. Thank you all so much for making us feel right at home, again! And please give the kitty our love!

    If you happen to be in Volcano (I doubt that anyone just "happens" to be there), this was the best restaurant by far during our recent stay. The panko-crusted calamari steak was both flavorful and tender, and the grilled ono was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth cooked with a non-sweet (unique in Hawaii) lemon butter sauce. Plus, you couldn't find a more helpful, efficient and knowledgeable waitress than Kanani!

    This place is absolutely beautiful! All the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the marlin and Michael had the lamb chops! Both delish! It was my birthday and Zach, our waiter, rocked. He took great care of us and even gave me a wonderful dessert to celebrate! Loved the friendliness and the smiles! That goes a long way nowadays! Thanks Zach and staff for making my birthday dinner fabulous! We will be back!!

    Beautiful venue, with a creative chef who mostly makes excellent dishes, but often adds a weird ingredient that can throw you off. Example: eggs with sausage and Dill Pickles? The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. Close to the volcano and Mauna Loa Road access.

    Such a charming restaurant! It was a rainy day, so it was nice to escape the cold in the cozy restaurant by the fire! The rack of lamb was amazing. Melt in your mouth tenderness and full of flavor. Small menu so they can be brilliant with each dish. A must when you are in Kilauea!

    We all really really liked our dishes at lunch...fish n chips, poke bowl, chief ranger eggs. And these are things we have a high bar on! I noticed other tables commenting on how good their lunch was, too. It did seem a little long wait for tables' food to come out. However, orders came out in order, and ours was unanimous delicious, so, definitely worth the wait. Probably wouldn't even suggest speedingit up. I never thought of pickles in an egg dish, but it works! Service very attentive...coffee and water offered regularly. They have something very special going on here!

    I LOVE Kīlauea Lodge Restaurant! It’s a wonderful haven of welcome and warmth next to Volcanoes National Park that offers delicious food, tasty drinks, and good ambience. If you are spending anytime at the park or even in Hilo, it’s absolutely worth a visit. One of the best dining experiences you can have on the east side of the Big Island.
