Added note: we went the night before for dessert only and had a wonderful blackberry cobbler ala mode. Sunday brunch: ordered eggs Benedict. Very nice bacon eggs Benedict. Bacon is not thin crispy bacon but a chunk of pork nicely browned. Potatoes that came with were nice and crispy skin on smashed. Their skillet cinnamon roll was delicious too.
Great service and food!
Brunch was wonderful. Every element of our meals was heartily eaten. We'll return.
We had a wonderful evening dining outside at King & Rye. The wait staff was very friendly and provided recommendations for our meal, drinks, and other Old Town Alexandria options! The atmosphere was extremely comfortable for delightful date night out! We also felt very comfortable with everyone’s COVID protocols.
King and Rye has emerged as one of the top Alexandria restaurants. Their chef can really cook and has an inventive menu that celebrates southern cuisine reimagined. Their cocktails and service complement beautifully for an outstanding experience every time. Try it!
Good food, great service! Would definitely eat there again.
Foods and cocktails were delicious. We asked the server for a few more minutes before ordering and waited a long time over 30 min for her to return. I am not sure if they were understaffed but she seemed to be also acting as a hostess. Other than the delay for orders and so time yo get food we had a nice time.
The food and service were amazing! The courtyard is a very nice place to enjoy brunch.
Service was nothing special, not knowledgeable about the drink selection.
Food was great, talking to the GM was very pleasant but we had to approach her.
I wish she would touch every table because she would make the experience definitely better.
Best tater tots ever!
Awesome brunch. Great for families. We sat in the patio and enjoyed it.
Celebrating a graduation
This was a great choice for a Saturday afternoon brunch. We sat out on the patio which was nicely heated with heat lamps. It was a pretty day and perfect for an outside meal. The service was excellent and so was the food. I had the eggs benedict and my friend had the shrimp and grits, and we both loved our meals. The cocktails were also great. Will definitely return again soon!
Food was delicious but our service was a little slow or lacking at certain points. It wasn’t overly busy. We were waiting sometimes on the next step of our meal. But the cinnamon roll was awesome, and our food was very good.
Shrimp and grits were gummy and gloopy. They tasted like it had been sitting in a pot for a long time. Not smooth or creamy as the should be. Pancakes had a weird aftertaste.
Chicken and biscuits were delicious. The service was great, and so was the atmosphere.
The staff was great. Even during the COVID posture I didn't have to wait to be seated after submitting a reservation for Sunday brunch. The cinnamon roll was amazing and the it looked like a lot of the items were made in-house, even the sausage. I can't wait to try them out for dinner!
Food and ambiance were spectacular. Service was pretty good, not amazing, not terrible, but I enjoyed my experience so much I am coming back again this weekend for brunch!
King & Rye was SO GOOD! The food was absolutely amazing, we ordered the cauliflower and pork croquette starters which were so delicious. I ordered the trout and my husband ordered the pork shoulder, both exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were very yummy and well done and the blackberry cobbler was delightful. I look forward to coming again and trying the banana pudding!
Absolutely amazing! Great food and environment. Friendly Staff. We will be back when in town
Lovely lighted courtyard. Moderate food selection. Excellent service. Will definitely dine there again.
This was the perfect brunch spot for our family on a Sunday afternoon. The service was amazing, our food was delicious, and my husband will be talking about that spicy pineapple margarita for a long time. We’d love to go back for dinner next time we’re in town and will definitely recommend this place to our friends in the area.
No points for dinning with open table.
The Malbec and deviled eggs were excellent starters. The tater tots and burger were actual perfection. Highly recommend for quality, ambience, and value.
Great place, great staff
Absolutely phenomenal! Delicious food, our server was fantastic, awesome drinks and the whiskey and chocolate pairing was so much fun. Will definitely be regulars!
Employees kept opening the door and letting the cold air overwhelm us
The service was great as well as the food and portions. I will be a repeat customer
Valentine’s Dinner.
The short rib paella was absolutely delicious!
Shondra (sp)? Was great and checked on us to make sure everything met expectations!
House made tatertots! We have dined here 3 times in 6 days - every single thing we ate was delicious.
Awesome breakfast. So awesome; I decided to go back the next day!
We had reserved one of the igloos for dinner this past Saturday night. Service was exceptional. food was amazing.
Keeping in mind we always try to be patient because of Covid, we were greeted then ignored and had to repeat (to the same person) what we had just said. I would have preferred “welcome, I’ll be right with you” if one doesn’t have time to deal with it. We were taken to a table the furthest back of the patio with a heat lamp she knew didn’t work. There was literally not another sole on the patio. We asked to be moved to a table near a functioning heat lamp. We enjoyed all the food. Cornbread was a different texture. Either it’s more of a spoon bread or it was underdone. But the flavor was there. The cauliflower needed salt, which we had to ask for twice and by that time it was cold. We had to ask for extra plates and serving utensils repeatedly as we had a number of dishes we were sharing as opposed to eating one dish per person. (This was obvious and stated in advance.)
The ambience is lovely and we will definitely give it another try, perhaps reserving early enough to snag an igloo! I wish all restaurants would understand that when you are eating outside in the cold, it’s helpful to have more attentive waiters (vs. being ignored) as it is cold and more challenging to stay for a leisurely meal. BTW, I carry a “go-bag” with seat cushions and a blanket.
Delicious cocktails and the burger was great. Scallops and grits were amazing. We were placed near the door and were cold.
They served the beat burger I have ever eaten. The server was friendly and attentive.
New menu was great. The trout dish was delicious. Restaurant was not overcrowded- easy to social distance.
Birthday brunch was lovely
Food was phenomenal! Also had nice and decently attentive waitstaff but we never had our waters refilled (had other drinks to be fair). Would definitely come back!
Came for brunch and it was outstanding! The cinnamon roll was crispy on the outside/soft on the inside. Not too sweet. And the burger! How can you go wrong with aged cheddar between two thin patties and whiskey onions on a potato roll. 😍 I also had the Irish coffee with the bourbon cream. So yummy. Will definitely be back!
Amazing service and food. Great quality for the price.
