Bruisend

Nestled amongst riverside treetops on Southgate’s mid level, La Camera boasts two balconies with stunning views over The Yarra River and iconic Flinders Street Station. The interior is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs depicting the history of the family that has owned and operated the restaurant since it opened in 2000. La Camera Southgate offers an array of authentic Italian dishes including unique Roman-style pizzas, authentic Pappardelle Ox Cheek from Trastevere-Rome and by far the most delectable Tiramisu in town. The emphasis is on quality ingredients, and fresh seasonal produce.

The setting is fabulous. We sat outside in the balcony overlooking the river. The setvice was good although it was very quick and our main courses arrived while we were still eating starters. I chose gnocchi for a main and it was tasty and plentiful but not particularly warm.

This was a pre-theatre meal. Service was very friendly and efficient and we had plenty of time to eat and get to Hamer Hall. All food was very good and reasonably priced. We found the background music a bit too noisy at times but we'd be happy to return and would recommend.

A perfectly located venue for pre or apres theatre dinner. We are always greeted with a warm welcome. Service is friendly and efficient. The menu offers a wide range of options and the meal never disappoints. I can highly recommend this venue.

The owner manager Paul made us feel good and he accompanied us to a outside table for 2 with a amazing view of the yarra. Our waiter was attentive and introduced himself at the start of the night. The meals that we had were lovely and filling l will definitely be returning there again.

A great place to go when you have people of all ages in the group. Everyone can find something to please on the menu. The service is absolutely perfect. The right amount of time after arrival for taking orders, dishes arrived promptly, drinks too. Waiter kept an eye on us so when our glasses were empty he arrived to ask what next? We had a lovely time and will go again.
