   First, this place thinks it’s a club rather than a restaurant. There are a dozens speakers pointed into the dining room, blasting music. Impossible to have a conversation. The hostess said “too bad” I said “it will be my last time here” and mgr graciously turned it down a bit. The waiter was attentive, but spent 80% of his time telling us what we should order, even though we already knew what we wanted. Unfortunately, getting their “specialty” fried chicken took over an hour. We were trying to get to a show, reserved the table for 5:30, thinking we’d be out by 7. At 7, we were still waiting for dinner. 3 of us were sharing the fried chicken, one ordered the other specialty, smoked oysters. The smoked oysters came out at 6:30, so Hecate without us. I really like the food here, but not a good exp.

   This food was amazing. When a server talks up the food I try to take it with a grain of salt but Samuel was right. The Chicken is great and the kimchi & collard greens are perfectly spiced. The wood grilled oysters were huge and so tasty. Definitely will go back. I did wish they had a larger beer selection.

   This restaurant gave me all the good feels! I felt like I was dinning in NY, but with a Houston vibe. Highly recommend for date night! The food was superb, I want to book another reservation just writing this review.

   The staff was welcoming and super nice. The food was well prepared, Served family style. We ordered a good mix of different items from the broiled oysters, shrimp, salad, fried chicken, and dumplings. Everything had great flavor and came out very quickly. The ambience of the restaurant is very pleasing and comfortable. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the Houston area.

   Everything was great we always love the food. A little disappointed to see the clam chowder fry’s not on the menu. Not to nitpick but the waitperson spent a little too much time explaining the concept to her tables. So much so that she kinda neglected everything after the initial order was taken.

    LaLucha is such a gem. It's definitely a "go to" for smoked/grilled oysters and fried chicken. Southern comfort is definitely their speciality along with amazing customer service. If you're looking to either hang out in the cozy dining room or out out on the patio, you will definitely enjoy the experience. LaLucha is top on my list. The prices are definitely par for the course.

    Always amazing fresh food & oysters. We sat out on the patio for the first time, we really enjoyed the scenery however the bugs were pretty bad. Might consider some bug traps, torches or covering for outside dining guest. But overall great service & food. Won’t sit on patio again.

    Tacos we’re a tad spicy but great! Had that sling with fries and the half order of chicken. Everything was superb. My waitress Salma was also a delight.

    My favorite spot for cocktails and oysters. The oysters on special were plump and delicious. Drinks hit the spot and food was awesome. I forget what our server’s name was (girl with glasses) — we’ve had her a few times and she is always great. Always a great time at La Lucha!

    Our server, Chris, was courteous, knowledgeable and happy. It’s obvious he loves his work and ensures his customers have a great dining experience. As always, the food is consistent and delectable. My mom enjoyed her honey butter chicken biscuits and I enjoyed my 1/2 chicken and pancake. The pancake is my favorite.

    Outside there was construction when wasn’t mentioned when I called and asked if they had outside seating and reserved. Inside was freezing and 2 or 3 people wore their jackets during dinner. The wrong drink came out twice. Requested spoons came out twice. The fried chicken came out 10 minutes before the fish so we didn’t even eat at the same time. Several of the smoked oysters were attached to the shell. Oyester shell fragments were in half of them. They were on bread but it was untoasted Texas Toast style bread with nothing on it and nothing to dip it in. The whole experience was a HUUUGEE disappointment. Especially for the cost and ratings. I wouldn’t go back.

    My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and went out to La Lucha. It was a great experience! The service, atmosphere, food and drinks. Everything was fantastic, we will definitely definitely be coming back! We highly recommend getting the blue crab chowder fries to start off and their frozen margaritas were absolutely delicious!

    Our waiter Sam was outstanding! They were attentive, had great recommendations, and efficient. The kitchen obviously works very hard as well. The food was delicious and timely on what is one of the busiest days nights of the year. We will definitely visit again.

    Great first time experience at LaLucha. Food was delicious and service was great. Lovely dining and outdoor areas. Only improvement would be more comfortable chairs, but even those weren’t bad. Definitely recommend this place for a night out with adults or on a date.

    Excellent service. Food was underwhelming. Pharmacy burgers very average. Grilled shrimp unexciting. Shrimp remoulade was drowning in dressing. Biscuits were the best. No dessert menu.

    Ive been here a few times so this experience was definitely lower than I expected. I typically order the fried chicken, garlic parmesan oysters a side of kimchi greens. This time we ordered a side biscuits to start along with a whole and a half order of garlic parmesan oysters. The biscuits arrived barely warm and the oysters weren’t as hot either to the point the parmesan wasnt even melted and the oysters tasted closer to raw we even left a few of the 18 that we ordered. We all got a burger which was hot but underseasoned. The only thing I didn’t complain about was the fries… they came hot fresh and seasoned. Service was subpar, we found ourselves flagging down anybody who would look our way. The waiter would literally be at the table next to us but wouldn’t check if we needed anything. Overall just undesirable experience this go around. First time i had an experience this terrible at La Lucha very surprising but off putting nonetheless.

    We had a group of 5 and they sat us in a squished table by the kitchen. We had 2 waiters clip our table twice coming around the corner and the clashing of dishes made it hard to enjoy conversation. However we do love la lucha and come often we just made a reservation and we’re hoping for a better location.

    We brought out of town guest to experience this restaurant for the first time. They enjoyed the entire experience. Chris was outstanding. Extremely friendly, anticipated our needs prior to asking (refilling water), provided the status of of food. He provided top notch service. Food is always delicious. Love the overall vibe/atmosphere. Only negative if this experience, drinks are hit or miss for me.

    We love coming in from the Burbs to go to La Lucha as the food is great and service is always excellent. Also nice that they have a valet as parking in the Heights can be a challenge. Love having a date with my wife at La Lucha.
