Superb atmosphere where you could actually hear one another without having to shout over invasive music, the staff were fantastic especially the bar staff who knew their stuff. Food was gorgeous, served beautifully and tasted amazing. 20/10, A*, 5* Thank you Lace Market Hotel Merchants Restaurant for a brilliant stay & food.

An excellent time from start to finish. The staff were always accommodating pleasant and helpful. The food was good and the choice of wine excellent.

Wanted to try this for a while , really liked the ambiance and service and starters were good but the main course was just not up to scratch . My fish was ok but my husbands 'Rack of Lamb ' cost £24 and was actually two chops and a lump of meat which was so fatty my husband was ill afterwards . We did complain and service was good and offered us cocktails and apologised but it was the food we came for and it wasn't just a bad plate the chap on the table complained about the lamb too - a shame as it was quite nice but too pricey to compromise on the good to that extent - very disappointed

My husband & I were celebrating his birthday. We had a lovely meal, food was very good. The staff were very attentive. We didn't feel at all rushed. We were going to a show at the Arena & the timing worked very well. The menu & wine choices were plenty. I have a garlic allergy & the waitress was very helpful asking the chef about my choice of food. The chef was able to accommodate this. My only negative thought on the meal was the honey glazed carrots which tasted fine & ate well were a little underdone & because they were left whole when trying to spear one with a fork it was quite difficult to stop them from flying off the dish. The Baileys cheesecake & honeycomb was very nice.
