Lakeside Bala is a newly renovated restaurant where every seat in the dining room or the patio has a view of Lake Muskoka. Our food is fresh and creative. The environment is friendly with lovely jazz playing continuously. Join us for lunch or dinner.

Please note: Reservations will only be held for 15 minutes on KEE concert nights and the patio will be available only on a first come first serve basis. Reservations are for meals.

Lovely restaurant. Noisy folks at the table beside us. Waitress was amazing. Lamb and steak were over cooked - not medium rare as requested. Caesar salad had took much dressing.

Food is decent, but over priced for what it can offer. Service is quite slow (20 mins wait for water, 40+ mins wait for food) and not adequate for a self-claimed fine dining restaurant. The only positive is the beautiful water front view the restaurant can offer.

The food was incredible. Flavourful. Perfectly cooked. Served hot. The team did a great job ! Great food, great cocktails, great ambience. Can’t wait to go back! The best around.

Mid reservation through this app felt that they would get my message requesting a nice table on the dock. It was my wife 60th birthday so I wanted it to be special for her. Upon arrival we were notified there was no tables available on the dock, although there were two empty tables within view we have the best table inside looking out through doors obviously the view was blocked and you could only see in front of you. My wife was upset clearly, and she had mentioned to the manager that she would like to sit out at the table on the dock. We were then informed by him that those table were reserved by someone before us. We ask him again if we could have that table because no one wa seated there yet and it being her 60th if it was possible he could make an exception. He said no, he would not. I mentioned that we had driven an hour knowing that I had requested the seats out on the dock and did not receive notification saying that the tables were not available. In fact I had spoke with him one day before on the phone asking if we could bring her special birthday cake for us to have for dessert which of course he was fine with. We also spoke about how beautiful the lake was and had a really nice conversation. Actually, there was no mention that our table was not going to be available as requested. I pleaded one more time for us to please have the table on the dock. He told me that we could eat somewhere else if we wanted to, and that was the end of our discussion we stayed for dinner. The service is noticeably slow. Our waitress told us it was her second day seemed like she was in training with another waitress. The place did not seem that busy I get with fine dining. It does take time for your meals. Waitresses should be attentive on refilling drinks while you’re waiting. We waited nearly an hour before our meals were served. I ordered my steak, medium rare and it came out well doneI told the waitress and the chef came out and had to look at my steak. Made it right.

A bit of a wait for drinks and food due to staff shortage but overall a great experience and atmosphere. Would recommend.

We did not receive our drinks until after we were done our appetizers. Our server did not clear our appetizer plates or bread plates at all during our dinner service and the steaks were tough and covered in pepper and seasoning. I asked for medium rare and got rare, but did not want to send it back in case it would’ve been overcooked The fillet was $83! And it was nothing special. Overall we wanted to try this restaurant for a while and we were very underwhelmed. Will not return.

I love this restaurant and the fact that they are now open at lunch is fantastic. I’ve been twice this year and the food and wine selection are great!

Little pricey (even for Muskoka) at lunch time and particularly at dinner time. However, a pretty good experience all around.
