Fried baby octopus and Burrata cheese and confit tomatoes Bruschetta: that’s how your experience at Le Caveau might begin, right in the heart of Rome, just steps from Santa Maria Maggiore and Piazza Vittorio. Our Mediterranean cuisine shines with dishes like Tagliolini “alla corsara,” Spaghetti with clams, Roman-style Saltimbocca, Green Pepper beef Tenderloin. About 45 years ago, this space was home to the Bank of Italy’s commercial branch—hence the name “Le Caveau.” Today, it’s a family-run restaurant, proudly recognized with TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice award. Here, quality meets warm Italian service, thanks to a young team and Enrico, a former fishmonger and the heart of the house. In summer, our outdoor patio offers a quiet, relaxing space—perfect for lunch or dinner in the center of Rome. Definitely worth a visit!

We chose this place based on other reviews and we were not disappointed! As our first ever meal in Italy it was a perfect experience! The service was outstanding, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and was the food was spectacular! 100% recommendation to anyone looking for a great Italian meal.

Wow, we had a ball at dinner. I didn't catch our waiter's name, however, the older gentleman may have been the owner? He was so much fun and his recommendations for food were perfect. The steak and pasta dishes were amazing and his suggestion for the ice cream dessert was uniquely wonderful. P.S. Ask him if the Brunello di Montalcino is his house wine (in a joking manner of course) and see how he reacts :). 5 out of 5.

Highly recommend this establishment for people visiting Rome. Everything met our expectations and if we ever go back to Rome we will definitely make a return visit.

This was a great little restaurant that I found on Open table, not far from my Rome Hotel. It has a nice ambiance, the food was delicious and the staff were lovely, and the service was great. My husband liked it so much he wants to eat there again before we leave Rome. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the pasta. We are, however, quite surprised by your comment about the lobster. Nothing was mentioned to our staff during your visit, and the dish was finished without any indication that there was an issue. Our lobsters are prepared fresh, cut in half while still alive and cooked immediately, so the description you provided does not reflect our preparation or quality standards. Had you mentioned your concerns during your meal, we would have gladly prepared a new dish or found an immediate solution. Our priority is always to ensure every guest leaves fully satisfied.
