Mabuhay and Welcome! Aptly named Makilala, translated to "get-to-know" in Tagalog, brings the heart of Filipino cuisine to life with dishes inspired by the titos and titas, cherished family recipes shared to Chef Nuit Regular (executive chef of Pai Toronto, Kiin, Chayo, and Tha Phae Tavern).
Each dish delivers soulful flavours & rich culture served with the signature Filipino hospitality making guests feel like they are coming home. Alongside her husband Jeff and his brother Joel, they wish to transport you to a lively Philippine fiesta designed like a vibrant basketball court where large community gatherings are centred, complete with a sari-sari styled bar,cozy bahay-kubo stage to sing your favourite karaoke songs, and walls filled with nostalgic touches of classic Philippine cinema and street signs.
Enjoy sizzling Silog favourites for Lunch or Kare-Kare Oxtail for Dinner, or Chef Nuit's favourite - Palabok Pork & Shrimp or Lobster. Also available for Take-out or DoorDash delivery.

brought my partner for a birthday dinner and the moment they sat down said it felt like they were home :,) after ordering our food, we were already looking at the menu planning our next visit and food order and want to bring our friends too

Staff was very charming and helpful during our stay explaining the dishes and traditional cuisine. They were very attentive and genuine caring about your experience. Food was very very good! Tasting

The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were so attentive and welcoming, especially Sydney, who took such great care of us throughout the night! We ordered the pancit and pork belly, and oh my, the pork belly portion was massive! It was packed with rich, yummy flavors and had that authentic Filipino taste that I loooove! ❤️ I also ordered green tea with honey on the side. For dessert, we tried the ube pandesal, and it was sooo good! The only thing was that the ice cream melted a little too quickly, but it was still a good treat. I also loved the decorations and the sari-sari store, which made the whole experience feel even more special and reminded me of home! The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. Overall, such a wonderful dining experience! Great food, amazing service, and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely come back! ❤️

We had such a lovely dinner at Makilala with my friends! The atmosphere was great, the food was simple yet delicious, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. We had a wonderful time, especially as we were pleasantly surprised by a karaoke session during dinner! What a fun evening!

The staff were great and very accommodating! We were a party of 5, and I just wish the table was a bit bigger to make everyone more comfortable. The sisig, palabok, and Makilola drinks are must-tries! The BBQ could use more grilling to get that nice smoky, charred flavor, as it tasted more boiled than grilled. The sinigang was also a little too sour for my taste. Overall, not bad for Filipino food! There are definitely some dishes worth coming back for.
