The Malt Dining Attic has been transformed from a working-class Georgian building, built in 1864, to a stunning contemporary dining experience complete with whisky bar and private cellar dining room.
Executive chef Michael Klemmt plates up a beautiful and satisfying dining experience focusing on close to source dining and paying significant care to dietary requirements.
Two menus are available at Malt with an express bistro offer in the bar and a more refined dining experience in the Attic that showcases contemporary food techniques with a relaxed style service.
Malt dining is located in the Brisbane CBD, close to Eagle St Pier and all public transport. If you are looking for a romantic dining experience or a private corporate lunch Malt dining is the perfect inner-city sanctuary.

Dry and tasteless fish, fatty pork chop, grilled broccoli - could barely chew. These meals warranted the price tag of a fast food restaurant. The pressure of waiters to have another drink. We will never be back.

My wife and I had the set menu, paired with wine. Four courses of very tasty food and very nice wines. There were no markings on the glass as to a proper measure so it seemed up to the server to give the correct amount. I thought this "randomness" could have been removed. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Don’t lie about the quality of you steak . It was obviously a cheap steak advertised as mabelled one. Don’t like being ripped of. I’m not dumb

Staff were awesome. Location is fantastic. I thought I was attending a ‘higher end’ restaurant, but the menu was more of a bar type food. Nothing to complain about, but if you are after an intimate type finer dining establishment, this is not your place.

The service was unobtrusively attentive. The menu was selective, but very diverse. Everything we tried, from the prawns to the sorbet were outstanding.

Food was excellent, service was great, ambience was lovely. Only issue was that we didn’t get a bread knife to cut the bread, but that’s really nit picky. The wagyu was SO good

Never had a meal that was less than spectacular at Malt. Great location, great vibes, great service. Food comes out fast and always rules. Portions are plentiful and come at very reasonable prices for fine dining.

This restaurant was lovely. Not sure if it was because it wasn’t full but it was so quiet. So pleasant, absolutely hate noisy restaurants. Food and wine pretty good too. Thoroughly recommend.

We ordered the banquet for 2 for $89 each. Food was exquisite and ample serving sizes. The sparkling water was en extra $6 which we weren’t aware of and my glass of wine cost $15. Service was excellent and we will return.

An amazing location for our wedding anniversary. Set menu with matching wines was an easy decision that meant time to relax and enjoy. Dietary requirements were no issue and an amazing bar downstairs to top off if you need.

Nice place - understated elegance. Lighting a wee bit too dark. interesting menu. But actual food delivered didn't match the promise. Eg. How does a fennel and mandarin salad have a bland taste?

We are pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavour of the food. The staff are very courteous. We went with a toddler and they try their best to accommodate us. We will definitely come back. Love the prawn, burnt butter, oyster, etc... everything!

We had a lovely evening at Malt on Friday with another couple. We chose the set menu and enjoyed all the courses. There was plenty of food and we couldn't finish it all. We noticed it was mostly couples and only a few tables with groups. It was a nice quiet atmosphere and would definitely either as a couple or small group.

The food was fabulous with generous size plates/bowls of everything we ordered. This coupled with the ambience, the friendly and attentive service and quality of wines means we will be coming back and have no hesitation in recommending Attic. Congrats to the Attic Team.

I've been to Malt a number of times now and the food has always been outstanding. The whole dining experience is amazing from the welcome, to the wait staff, to the service, to the food amd beverage selections. I'll definitely be back!
