We were happy with the food, but we're bumped to outdoor seating after a 15 minute wait, despite having a reservation for indoor seating. The outdoor area was set up pleasantly, but the door was often left open by the waiters and there was a bad draft, making the entire experience uncomfortable.

Manny's is the heir of old Cassis and maintains the Parisian charm of a Rive Gauche bistro. Owner is kind and reassuring, staff alert and efficient, food reliable and tasty, wine list ready to accommodate every budget with a fine selection. Kudos and give it a try.

It was a mixed bag. Upon arrival at 7:00 with a reservation, we faced a packed, very noisy room. We were given the last table: in the central passage way for a constant flow of wait staff. Toward the end of our meal an hour later, things quieted to a pleasant pace and comfortable noise level. Food: appetizers (crab cake and mushroom soup) were very good. The Caesar salad was average. The duck breast entree was very nice, but the special duck a l'orange was a disappointment: overcooked and dry, while the orange was on the side dish and not noticeably on the two duck legs. Service was very good.

This is my new favorite place for pre and post Lincoln Center. Lovely ambiance and the food and service are always excellent.

The Onion Soup ($17) was mild in taste and would have been more pleasing if the bowl did not have bread in it. The bread did not add any flavor, and did reduce the amount of onions and broth in the bowl. I rate the Onion Soup 7 points out of a possible 10. The Breast of Duck ($39) was served without a sauce and medium rare, as requested. The roughly 10 pieces had an unusual texture compared to others I have had elsewhere. The duck needed a steak knife to cut it, and had little flavor. I rate it 6 points out of 10.

It was our first visit based upon a recommendation. Everything was fantastic from the service, food, ambiance and the cocktails! The profiteroles were the best ever.
