   Food was fantastic and we were seated earlier than our booked time, having arrived 45 mins ahead of the scheduled time. This was appreciated. Service was great, waited a little longer than was required between starters and mains, but as I asked, the food came out within 2 minutes. This food was beautiful, possibly the best roast we’ve had outside of home. Thank you, we will be back. Thank you

    What a lovely experience. We were a bit concerned with some of the recent plus/minus reviews, but we had a wonderful experience. In particular, the goat cheese croquettes and chicken wrapped in ham were stellar. As mentioned by many, the space is amazing. Our service was on-point and very welcoming. Would recommend and would go back again.

    The service was shocking. Waited at the bar for a drink. Got taken to our table and informed our drinks would follow but I had to go to the bar and get them after a long wait. Waited another long time for new drinks. Food was decent. We had steak and the waitress gave us our steak knives at the end of our steaks. Very over priced for what it was too.

    We went for Sunday lunch, there’s just a few things that they need to work on. Firstly butter should be served a room temperature so it can be spread, our butter was so cold it was almost frozen, there for we couldn’t enjoy bread selection which was an extra . The pea soup was gorgeous, main I had roast been which I asked for medium / pink , it was so well done that it was dry. The rest of the dish was actually really flavoursome and cooked and presented really nicely but the beef let it down Entirely. Sundays are once a week so a Sunday lunch is something people really look forward so For the star of the show to be so over done was disappointing . If I had more time I would have sent it back but all the beef coming out looked the same. The desert I had the caramel and banana cheese cake. Again the flavours were all there but it was so cold I needed a knife to cut through the base of the cheese cake because it was solid. Overall this is a really beautiful restaurant , just needs them little tweaks to make it from an ok experience to a great.

    On arrival we received a complimentary glass of bubbles each because it was our anniversary, really lovely surprise. Food was beautifully presented, and the taste was great. Favorite of the night was definitely the beef carpaccio! Cocktails looked and tasted great, although only a limited option to choose from. Our server was friendly and attentive without being too much. Restaurant ambiance took a little while to warm up, the decor is stunning and I really loved our luxury booth seating but we were the only ones in there for our 6.45pm booking, which made it quiet and empty feeling…… later on in the meal, more bookings arrived giving it a better atmosphere. Overall, highly recommended, made a really nice romantic night out.

    The food was really good as always and service was great, the only slight issue was that it was a bit cold near the windows but apart from that we had a lovely time. We weren't rushed in any way and the staff were really nice and friendly.

    Service is shocking. Inexperienced staff. Food is mixed some dishes are good others are awful. Even though we had a early reservation on a Saturday night they weren’t able to offer the full menu.

    Food was nice, however we did utilise the 50% off January deal, otherwise I do not believe the food would have been worth the price. We were sat in a enclosed booth which meant we did get forgotten on several occasions and only got checked on when we had finished our food.

    We returned for my friend’s birthday because Masons is one of our favourite restaurants, unfortunately, we were near the bar this time, therefore it’s noisy, the prawn starter was not like what we used to have, the bread should be sourdough but not, our mains were tasty, I highly recommend the beef cheeks, the crème brûlée was a real disappointment because it’s a vegan one, the chef made it with chocolate, it was too heavy and too chocolate-sy, nothing like a crème brûlée which is light and silky. Put the food aside, service was as good despite slight “hitches”, our general experience of the place is still good. We will return and I hope the food will be better next time. 🙏🏼

    Dined here many times before. It felt like they were short of waiting staff as service was slow. One waitress poured far too much wine each time she came to the table so we had to ask her to leave that for us to do. The starter "Wild Game Terrine with Sourdough Croute" was very disappointing. Smooth Pate with a white, untoasted bread roll. Mains were all good but bizarrely two portions of Cheese as desserts were unavailable as they had run out of cheese. Not the best experience.

    We had the 50% off food January deal which we were happy about because if we had to pay full price we would have been quite disappointed. The food itself was delicious and I cannot fault it, but the portions were very small to the point we had to get food from the Sainsbury's afterward. The service wasn't the best; our server was lovely but we had to wait nearly 40 minutes for the bill which I would understand if it were busy but it was relatively quiet and our server walked past us several times looking at our empty table. All in all- very nice food but disappointed in portions; would possibly come back if it were 50% off again but doubt I would bother at full price.

    We last ate here before "lockdown" and had done so many times because we always thought it excellent. Not so now, sadly. The level of service is still excellent and the attentive staff are to be very much commended. The food is not quite up to snuff however. not awful, but just not very good, The duck mousse doughnut I had as a starter was a good idea badly executed. The accompanying jam was so sweet it made my teeth zing!! Not such a pleasant experience. The ox cheek was fine but nothing to write home about. The gravy it came with was not as rich or tasty as you would like. My guests said the same about their dishes. I do hope the food improves because the lovely venue and wonderful staff deserve it. I will try again in a couple of months to see how it is.

    If I could give this 0 stars I would. We had a booking at 6pm and weren’t seated at our table until 6:45. In the meantime we were at the bar, sat at the end with maybe 20 dirty glasses, we were trying to get the staffs attention to order a drink which took 15 minutes in total. We were seated at a table at 6:45 and then ordered drinks and food. It was 7:30 when we were approached by a waitress who asked us if we want to skip to mains because the Terrine that we’d ordered had been made incorrectly?! We said no and that we’d have the one starter - mushrooms on toast, this came and the plate was piping hot but the food itself was cold and had the bread was like cardboard. At this point we asked for the bill to pay for our drinks and once this was settled we left. 90 minutes in total. What an awful experience. We told the waitress whilst paying for our bill about all these blunders and were offered our drinks for free. We just wanted to leave and get some decent food elsewhere so we declined. Just horrendous.

    Absolutely outstanding food, best meal I've had in a long time - and I eat out alot! Great atmosphere and decor, very classy but without being pretentious and friendly staff. Service was slightly slow but they were very busy and we didn't mind.

    The restaurant was busy when we arrived and our table was delayed (slightly). However we werent offered a seat at the bar, to see the menu or to order a drink. On seating the table was high and the seats low and the place was full of fruit flies. The service was OK and the staff pleasant. My food was good but my partners wasnt great - 4 prawns on a starter is just not enough. Allergens were discussed and accommodated. The beef cheek was very fatty and not as expected and the vegetables were oily. Overalll an OK experience due to the 50% off food in Jan , but would not return.
