Match Eatery & Public House - Gateway Casino Hanover

Overall the staff was great the kitchen staff had some issues with our food order which took over half an hour for some deep fried wontons which we asked in advance if they were deep fried but they came out soggy like right from a pot of semi warm water with some kind of drizzle added for flavour. I tried one and was appalled, explained to our server the issue which in turn she apologized and removed it from the bill.
Perhaps a kitchen staff and the wait staff need to work better as one and communicate in regards to what the customer actually ordering.
Overall a quiet atmosphere due to everything going on but it was great to get out & support local businesses.

I really enjoyed the pretzels. Our server checked with us often to see if we needed anything.

Delicious meal- the clubhouse with apple chutney aioli is excellent.

We dine at the Match quite often. We like the variety of the menu and enjoy the Happy Hour drink specials. We don’t mind waiting for our meal but if you are in a mad rush, go to a fast food restaurant.

For the first time ever, the Match was less than perfect. Service was great, atmosphere great, pricing good. Unfortunately, the meal was lacking. The Nashville chicken sandwich was either over cooked or the oil is in dire need of replacing. The outside batter on the sides of the sandwich fell off and onto my plate when I picked it up. My wife had fish and chips. Her fish had very dark batter.
Maybe there was a new cook. The food did come out hot. Presentation was good.

We will be back hoping that this was a one off.

First time there and we were pleasantly surprised The Staff is busy but takes time to connect with customers. Food was great. Husband had Dessert and was happy with the Chocolate cake! Overall Thank YOU to all the staff front of the house and back of the house!!

The food and service was great. Unfortunately the ‘view’ was not so wonderful as there was a manager working there dressed in a skirt so short and heels so high that even my 14yr old daughter commented on how awful and inappropriate it was. Other than that, we had a lovely meal.

The servers were very attentive. The food was delivered promptly and still hot.
Safety precautions made us feel very secure, including barriers between tables.

Ordered my wings naked and crispy.Got them sauced,sent them back ! When I got them they hardly crispy at all. Dawns natchos were not so good ! Be a while before we go back ! Seems there were a bit too busy,maybe cook was overwhelmed !

I love the matches food always delicious. The staff are always attentive and friendly.

I ordered fish and chips. The fish was soggy, fries barely cooked and the Cole slaw was bland and tasteless. The waitress asked how our meal was and I told her and she said ah that’s too bad and walked away. Very disappointed. I chose this restaurant because I was hoping the ventilation system was excellent with the casino next door. Certainly not for the food now.

Always seems to be a waitress leaving for the night and new waitress doesn’t check on us.

Once again my food was missing two things listed on the menu as being in the dish. Every. Single. Time.

Service was great, food is very over priced and not very good at all.

Our server was amazing! We had a few people with dietary restrictions and allergies and she made sure that all were looked after. The food was fresh, tasty, and appealing!

Dale, the floor manager... above and beyond. His attention to detail and issues arising on the floor are astounding. He’s a pleasure to deal with.

We were a group of 7. Once we arrived, everything was good!
Medium-rare steak was medium- well done, but it tasted so good, we ate it.
Patio seating was perfect and the server Barb was great!

Service was excellent and food was very good. Drinks were a bit pricey with extra charge for mix with vodka cranberry.

I am not one to suggest where one should eat. This however is a great place to start.the food is fantastic and was out very quickly from the kitchen. the waitress was very very nice and made you feel special.
