We had a small medical emergency and their staff was incredible! Parted the Red Sea and pulled all necessary and unnecessary strings for my mom. I really appreciate the kindness and professionalism from this staff!

This is the best Tex Mex in austin hands down! Best service best everything!! My family has been coming for many many years and it absolutely never disappoints!!!

We came for lunch and my wife ordered an beef enchilada. They brought a spinach enchilada and told her that was what she ordered. Her beans had a piece of plastic in it. The waitress seemed surprised but was otherwise apathetic.

sadly as 40 year loyal patrons our experience Thursday Oct 15 was less than acceptable and for sure will keep two of us from going again. We were there for a bday dinner. One friend came late due to her arrival to town delay. The server refused her ordering a drink and said “they don’t serve joiners!” This after our spending over $200 so far. It was very rude and certainly not treatment representing customer service we have come to expect there! Absolutely ridiculous. I wish the Martinez family would get a hold of this new management team and stop this nonsense that is an affront to what the Matt’s business was built on over the years! super embarrassed we invited our friend to come and be called a “joiner”!

Hits every time! Classic Tex Mex and cocktails. Great outdoor patio when the weather is good. Service is always great.

The only two things I would recommend getting here are the queso and the margaritas, everything else we got was not very good. Tasted like it had been sitting on a line for hours and just scooped onto the plate that expectations. Yes, this is an Austin institution, but that doesn’t mean that the food is great.

Our first time at Matt’s and it was outstanding. It was a very busy Saturday night, jam packed and the staff handled it like the well oiled machine they apparently are. Moreover, the food was delicious and delivered quickly. It was a perfect first act for a lovely night out at the 04 Center. Will definitely visit again soon!
