   My wife and I went in for early dinner as we had a musical event to get to by 7:30pm. Seating, view (next to huge window facing the ocean), service and food were excellent. My wife had the shawarma octopus and I had the Aleppo spiced chicken, both delicious.

   Excellent service, waiter was very attentive. We went for brunch, my traditional eggs benedict was good, the egg fritata my friend got was very good. The only disappointment was the sourdough cinammon bun that we ordered as a dessert at the end. Very chewy, not soft and moist. Brunch, plus tip, was about $120, including a glass of riesling for me and prosecco for my friend. Not a lot of vegetarian options for my friend. Expensive for brunch, but gorgeous ocean views, beautiful ambience.

   Food was excellent but the service was incredibly slow. It took over 60 minutes to receive our dinner after we had ordered. The bar service was slow and the food was incredibly slow. The overall poor service detracted from the whole experience. It was unfortunate because the food was really delicious.

   The value is all on the ambiance and view. Was seated on the terrace overlooking the ocean at sun set. However when it came to the food, it was definitely overpriced and not well cooked. My children ordered a kids max and cheese which tasted grainy. They could not eat it. I ordered the prawns, which I was told was like a paella. This was the furthest thing from a paella as possible. The prawns and mussels were over cooked and tasted like mush. The rice was incorrect and I not taste the saffron. Definitely NOT worth the price. My wife ordered the vegetarian cauliflower meal, which was just a few pieces of over cooked cauliflower without any flavor. Definitely a hard pass on this restaurant.

    great food... deafening experience! miserable brunch due to large parties in the venue... would never allow ourselves to be sat in the mediterranean room again if full of people.

    This is our favorite go-to place whenever we are in the San Diego area. It's like stepping in to another world - one of elegance and taste. The decor is lovely. The servers are friendly and very attentive. The food is scrumptious. The view from any location divine. We always try to sit in La Sala, the outside patio area overlooking the ocean in the distance. I would highly recommend the Mediterranean Room at La Valencia Hotel for a lovely dining experience.

    I chose the Mediterranean Room at La Valencia for my birthday lunch because of the beautiful view of the ocean as well as the excellent food. The crab cake is almost pure crab, which by my experience is rare. The flatbread with smoked salmon has a wonderful flavor, and best of all, the chocolate mousse for my birthday was the best I have ever had! I also recommend the cocktail called "The Pink Lady".

    Incredible views off set by short staff and no one in sight who did anything to either set your expectation of a poor service experience of help out. Second try at this place, will not return. I will take my $350 for dinner and go somewhere else…

    Didn’t know what to expect when we booked. So happy we took the chance. A fantastic restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Went there for Valentines Day and was very impressed by the set menu in quality, taste, and overall value. A wonderful experience and my wife and I will be returning.

    Loved the outdoor seating. Nice view of the shore and lively La Jolla. Staff was kind and always checking up to see how we were doing. I strongly suggest the drinks!

    Very disappointed. For most of my life of over 60 years this was a Grand place to go...not anymore. Everyone was nice, food was okay, but cold. Of course it is still a beautiful place, but do yourself a favor and go to Snooze for breakfast. It was freezing in the dining room, we left our coats on. I had to ask for coffee refills. Im so sad .

    Sunday brunch with a wonderful window view of the ocean! Not crowded at all at 11 am. Service was excellent and the food tasty, good portions. They didn't mind substituting avocado for ham on my eggs benedict. We will come back soon!

    After being seated and having to wait 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order…. Our breakfast entrees were cold!!! Cold lobster eggs Benedict and two cold filet and eggs!!! Oh and we also shared a burnt cinnamon roll with a disgusting pink frosting…. Everything was unacceptable…. Dining room had two other tables filled… They should be ashamed…. We will not be returning!!

    Our waiter was so nice. We were celebrating our anniversary and he was very personable and professional to remember our occasion. Superb experience at our favorite La Jolla hotel.
