Over dit restaurant

In Manhattan's East Village, Meskel crafts nourishing and authentic Ethiopian cuisine made with fine ingredients and traditional recipes, served in a warm and inviting setting. The lentil sambuusa crispy and savory pastry and the fresh tuna salad make ideal starters to your meal. Some of Meskel's specialty entrée dishes include the doro wat chicken pieces seasoned with berbere spices and sautéed in butter, the mincet alecha ground beef sautéed with ginger, butter, garlic and ginger and gomen bosega cubed beef and collard greens sautéed with onion, garlic and butter, all of which are seasoned to perfection. Meskel also has a wide selection of delicious vegetarian dishes, like the tikil gomen with sautéed cabbage and potatoes and the miser wat lentils sautéed with spices, onions and garlic, which are also served with spongy injera bread. For a sweet end to your meal, enjoy the tasty carrot or rum cake.
