Metropole Bar & Kitchen highlights a classic west coast cuisine inspired by our culinary team’s heritage and the local community.

Our lobby-level restaurant welcomes guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, available seven days a week.

Much like the rest of our property, Metropole Bar & Kitchen’s design was inspired by muse Anna May Wong, the first Chinese-American international movie star who lived in Downtown L.A. during the early 1900s during the time of prohibition.

Stepping into our dining area is reminiscent of decades past with nods to DTLA’s prohibition era. From our booths and lowered ceilings that embody speakeasies and underground tunnels that once transported spirits and contraband, to the black & white photos of Jazz musicians inspired by the Jazz Era of the 1920s.     ✨COZY WINTER-THEMED BAR IN LA✨ It’s winter in Los Angeles, and although it’s still 60° and sunny this pop-up bar in DTLA is bringing the cozy après-ski vibes I’m craving but without the yucky cold and physical activity. This is the Winter Chalet, located on the lobby level of Hotel Indigo Downtown at Metropole Bar + Kitchen, and it’s a must visit if you’re looking for a cute wintery experience! They have a small menu of food and drink specials for the pop-up, and my favorite dishes were the delicious Crab Cakes with red pepper sauce and the comforting and cheesy French Onion Soup. They do also have a vegan option (an impossible meatball) for anyone who’s plant-based. As for the drinks, I loved all of the cocktails I tried, and they even have a zero proof (non-alcoholic) mocktail which is perfect for Dry January! Nothing goes better with cozy vibes than board games, and they have a great selection including Scrabble (in a box that looks like a book!), Backgammon, and quite possibly the most aesthetic Tic Tac Toe board I’ve ever seen. The Winter Chalet at Hotel Indigo DTLA is first come, first served so no reservations are necessary, and it’ll be open from now until the end of February. They also have deals for Wine Wednesdays (specials on bottles) and Bubbly Fridays (champagne flights)! Who are you taking here?                                                           THIS IS MY SECOND STAY AT THE INDIGO HOTEL THAT HAS THIS RESTAURANT DOWNSTAIRS. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS OF HIGH QUALITY, AND THE ATMOSPHERE FEELS RIGHT. WE HAD THE BEST BREAKFAST, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MATCHA FRENCH TOAST; IT WAS YUMMY. SERVICE WAS, AS USUAL, PERFECT.

                                                          I made a reservation at Metropole Bar and Kitchen, so I was seated quickly, which made for a smooth start to the meal. I did not have to wait long for someone to take my order, and the food arrived hot without a long wait. Our server was attentive, apologized when an issue came up, and provided good service throughout the meal. I ordered the Indigo Breakfast. The scrambled eggs were very tasty and were the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the quality of some of the other items did not meet expectations. The bacon was undercooked, the sourdough bread tasted rubbery and did not seem fresh, and the chicken sausage was dry and lacked flavor. The coffee was also bitter. My wife ordered a Diet Coke, but it had to be sent back because it was flat. Our server apologized and quickly brought out a canned Diet Coke instead, which was appreciated. I also prefer real butter, but the butter served tasted more like margarine. Overall, the service was good, and the staff handled the issues professionally. However, given the price, I expected a higher quality breakfast with better attention to the details. While there were some positives, the food quality did not match the cost of the meal.

                                                          This is the perfect place for brunch with friends. They are organized, friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks is amazing and delicious. I really love the environment. Highly recommend.

                                                          Overall experience was very good. The food was on a salty side but still good. The staff were great, maybe short of staff when we were there but all of them were very nice and helpful. I would recommend this place for a night out in DTLA.

                                                          The highlight of the evening was the service. Heidi and Nancy were amazing. Top marks for attentiveness, personality and warmth. Food was excellent, served promptly and per our requests. Will visit again!

                                                          The food and service are amazing here! Genaro was our server and did a fantastic job. We had the calamari appetizer and the salmon entrees. The calamari is one of the best I have ever had. Crispy and not greasy at all. The Ginger Garlic Salmon was very flavorful and cooked perfectly.

                                                          We love the bar area and bartenders knowledge and friendliness, food still doesn’t disappoint; it is the place of the entire hotel that still makes the place keep being worth visiting. The hotel itself… not what it used to be, disappointing

                                                          When looking through the Open Table website for restaurants there is never any mention of the restaurant being part of a hotel. I mention this because most hotel restaurants are very average. I look for restaurants with unique menus and exciting chefs. I have booked 2 restaurants in the past month where i found out when arriving that they were hotels. Inside, the restaurant was basically empty of people and had no character at all.
