   This was a great choice for our wedding anniversary. Great food and service. Weather cooperated as well so we sat on the patio. All the food was great, especially the fried chicken and potatoes, ending with some wonderful bread pudding. Will definitely be back!

   We had dinner at Milton's on a cold evening and were immediately greeted and brought to our lovely table in front of a glowing fire. Our waitperson was attentive and knowledgeable. The fish special for the evening was NC flounder and it was delicious. My husband had the special and I had a piece of flounder on my salad. The flounder was just a bit overcooked, but it had a delicious crust and it and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We sampled the homemade milk chocolate ice cream and brought home a serving of the bread pudding. The ice cream was rich and delicious. The bread pudding was out of this world! We had been having mostly casual dinners while staying in Black Mountain and Milton's was a more refined and delicious dinner. We highly recommend!

   Three couples chose Milton's for a date night. We range in age from 55- 70 yrs. Our hostess was very nice. Our server was very nice, but needs improvement on where to draw the line at being too casual and be more professional. She sat down in my friends chair to lay the muffins basket and butter on the table - my friend went to the bar to get a drink. She was very nice, but she was just a bit too casual which would have been OK if we were at a pizza joint, but not Milton's. It was clear she was busy with many tables, so we cut her some slack when it came to letting plates and drink glasses pile up on the table. It wasn't until the end of the meal that she removed the muffin plates, empty basket and butter, which we ended up stacking up to make room on the table - there were six of us and only five muffins. 🤔Moving on, our meals were delivered in a timely manner, however the creamed spinach was cold. Our steaks were cooked as ordered, and had great flavor, however, the knives we were given were not sharp enough to cut into our steaks. We had to ask for an actual steak knife. The truffle fries were hot and delicious. Overall, our first experience at a higher end Milton's was not the best. Spending $60 per person, not including cocktails, we should not have received cold creamed spinach and improper knives for our steaks. Patio and fire pit were very nice. All this being said, I don't think we will be back.

    On a Tuesday, there is a pared down menu, but only for the winter months. Several tapas dishes, and a few larger portion plates are available. It was super slow, and few people in the place, but it is always a wonderful experience at Miltons.

    This was our third visit in 2023. We were so happy to be served again by Jennifer. The food was perfectly cooked and truly delicious. Since it was my birthday we revealed a complimentary slice of cake to share. We are hoping that the pickled shrimp returns to the menu this summer. We will return even if it does not. Thanks again for a memorable experience.

    Our server was attentive and great at recommending dishes. The pimento cheese was AMAZING, as well as the bread pudding. Both entrees (fried chicken and shrimp and grits) were a great portion and satisfying.

    We love Milton’s, the ambiance and the food. It is slightly crowded on the indoor porch which makes it hard to hear so if you want to be able to have a quiet conversation perhaps request to sit near the fireplace.

    As always, Milton's did not disappoint. The braised venison was so delicious and tender, and it was falling off the bone. It was a cold evening, so the table near the fire felt especially nice. When they found out we were celebrating a birthday, we received a free dessert! Our server, Emily, was pleasant and attentive even though she appeared to be the only server working that night. If you are looking for a fine dining experience in Black Mountain, go to Milton's!

    Awesome atmosphere, friendly staff and nice waitress. The duck was terrible and cold with no flavor and appeared very undercooked. My husband said the Waygu sirloin was very good. Very small portions of everything served. Was supposed to have gotten a free glass of champagne and it was never brought to us.

    $65.00 for flavorless “buffet” Food was uncovered and cold. It was also extremely loud and on top of it loud music. We quickly left $140 later. Definitely do not recommend.

    This was a good meal at one of our favorite restaurants. There's the rub, it is a good meal but not outstanding. The price for the opentable was quite high. While we appreciate the ambience and the staff we were disappointed at the overall cost.

    Exceeded our expectations! Made a reservation for my husband’s birthday. We had a nice table be the fire. The atmosphere was delightfully lit by the several Christmas trees around us. Our server greeted us right away and was knowledgeable about all the food and drink items. She was pleasant and efficient. Husband ordered the fried cauliflower for an appetizer. I wasn’t excited about eating fried food but this dish was most excellent! Better than I expected. We split the leafy green salad. Very good also but they forgot to put the onions on the side for Husband. I like onions so it was not a problem for me. There was only one vegetarian option - the potato gnocchi. It was also delicious and included tasty cute little mushrooms. Charlie had the fried chicken, mash potato and greens. He really enjoyed the dish. We also ordered a hot totti and spiced cider with whiskey. Nice drinks though pricey at $15 each. Milton’s served us a fabulous 8-layer homemade carrot cake with candle! Perfect way to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Definitely will come back.
