Food and service 10/10 as usual. Chef knows how to combine unexpected flavours to make a dish that works every time.
We found the friendly and very knowledgeable service to be very welcoming. The decor and ambiance is special. The menu choices make it very difficult to choose a dish, so we will definitely be back to try some more dishes. Unfortunately we had a large birthday party next to us which was very noisy but this does not deter us from dining here again.
The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the service... by far the best restaurant in Brisbane.
A great dining experience. Absolutely everything was perfect from the seating, noise level, to the superb service and amazing food. I can't wait to go back.
The service and food at Montrachet was nothing less than outstanding. The service was both professional and attentive, but not intrusive. The food was superb and well presented. The restaurant had a nice ambiance. The only fault I could identify was the dining tables are in close proximity to each other, thus you can hear the conversation of those people surrounding you, and visa versa. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Our time spent at Montrachet Bowen Hills was splendid and surprising cheap. Definitely going again.
Lovely dinner was had. Attention to detail was amazing.
Still the best restaurant in Brisbane. Love Montrachet; perfect all round
If you take people there like I did that haven't had a French experience before and come out saying that was fantastic, then this is a great restaurant. 5 days later they are still talking about it.
Sensational. Feels like I'm back in Paris! Absolutely loved your Kir Royale and your blue vein cheese.
Staff were wonderful, food was soulful and delicious, wine list exquisite
We had the Saturday night 5 course degustation. The food was delicious with interesting twists which you expect from Montrachet. We have previously dined when at Paddington and the move has enhanced the experience. The new fitout is brilliant with reminders of the old establishment. The service was first class, professional yet friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
It was a most enjoyable anniversary dinner. We will be back and will recommend it as a special place to dine in Brisbane.
We went to Montrachet to celebrate a birthday. The food was outstanding as was the wine. The service could have been a bit better, we were left for sometime without being offered a drink when we initially arrived, however the service improved as the evening went on.
My wife and I, visiting from interstate, enjoyed a memorable meal at Montrachet: fine dining at its best; wonderful ambience; superb service. We had often dined at Montrachet - in its former ‘home’ in Paddington - when we lived in Brisbane up until 2 years ago. We are happy that it’s standards have not slipped one iota and it has certainly ‘settled’ into its new home on King Street. In our opinion Montrachet is one of the finest restaurants in Australia - and we’ve dined at quite a few of them. While it is not ‘cheap’ it provides exceptional value for money.
Excellent restaurant, the food was superb and the service just right. Really interesting menu of 5 tasting plates with matching wines, the choices were varied and the wines so delicious. Not a cheap night, but very special and highly recommended. Even better than when it was at Paddington.
The food , service & venue were excellent . I would highly recommend your restaurant to my friends and we will return.
What an awesome special Occasion Restaurant!
Just as good as 18 months ago in the former location
Fantastic service, delicious food, excellent experience
The food was as good as one would expect from this upscale venue. From the a la carte menu our table of two both ordered crab and gruyere soufflé appetiser and quail for main followed by Peach Melba and Chocolate de Passion for dessert. The soufflé delivered the OMG moment of the evening. The only letdown dish was the Peach Melba, probably too early in the season for the perfect fruit required for this classic dessert of few elements. Service was very attentive and professional. Noise levels were rather high but tolerable. Will definitely revisit; the steak frites looked amazing and excellant value.
Good food, decent service. We were seated next to the till, so the frequent movement behind and to the side of us was a little disruptive. Lighting also seemed a little bright.
Best French restaurant in Queensland! Bravo chef Shannon Kellam
Perfect as expected
We had the 5 course degustation & it was simply wonderful. An inspired selection of dishes, which really showcased the Chef's talent & imagination. What stood out was the great care & respect that was shown for the ingredients, the delicate flavours of each dish, and the attention to detail in presentation was second to none. The professional, pleasant & non invasive service topped off a memorable dining experience. 5 Stars!
The degustation menu with matched wines was tremendous - a must try & we will certainly be back
This is a superb restaurant experience. Exquisite food that tastes amazing and a magical experience in dining. Amazing staff who are so professional and knowledgeable!
One of best restaurants in brisbane. We had been to Paddington but first time at Bowen hills. The service was amazing and the specials we were offered were 10-10. Highly recommended.
Great ambience and menu. Had the coral trout special which I would highly recommend though a bigger serve of greens was required for the amount of fish.
The food and wine pairing on Saturday night was exceptional, as was the interaction with the staff. Overall a great experience fit for our wedding anniversary but we’ll be back for any occasion.
Great food and service! Extensive wine list and we will definitely be returning.
We ate the 4 course degustation menu, with recommended accompanying wines - $150. Not cheap, but excellent value and more generous dishes and pours than we had expected. (So don’t drive, take the train. It’s only 600m from Fortitude Valley station.) The food was lovely, classically French, and the combinations interesting - a delicate duck parfait served with bitter orange marmalade, for instance. My husband ordered the slow cooked duck egg with asparagus out of sheer curiosity, and said it was delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable treat.
Wonderful food and great service. The dinner with matched wines was execellet and will be on our list to go back.
The staff and chef were very accommodative to food intolerances. A great night.
As good a restaurant as anywhere in Paris! To be recommended
montrachet is a boutique french
upmarket restaurant. great food though not inexpensive. tables are a bit too close so I would not go there to have a confidential conversation and you hope your dining neighbors arent loud. all in all wonderful food trumped
Lovely evening out with friends- excellent service, good food and delicious wines to match
My husband and I had a wonderful evening at Montrachet - and as always, we left the restaurant already looking forward to our next evening there. Exceptional food, wine & service in a stylish & elegant restaurant. Thank you to Shannon & all of the team!
For the price it was very disappointing. The waitress was nice but definitely not trained for fine dining....we had to ask for the specials and she didn't ask if we wanted sides with our mains so we ended up ordering them after our meals were served (and we realised that there were no vegetables included).
The food was very nice, but nothing special, and the lamb left the plate covered in blood as it was very rare.
It's the second and probably the last time we dined there, and we went back as we thought maybe the first time our waitress was having an 'off' night....but what I see is that the staff are not trained , and as a result we didn't feel that we were looked after very well.
We had to top up our own water, and were not even acknowledged by the other staff (we had our waitress and that was it).
At a fine dining restaurant the staff usually make one feel so welcome, a little bit special, and nurtured throughout the time ... but here it felt very transactional.
The decor was beautiful, the wine list impressive, but the experience and environment were such a let down.
As always, amazing food, wine and service. Poached duck egg is a work of art. Thanks Clare, Shannon & Tannia. DG
The waiters were professional and engaging - very attentive. The crab soufflé was a standout and the bread (yum). A huge wine list. I'd definitely go again for a special occasion. Try the kaffir lime & cocnuy sorbet!
Great venue, convenient, excellent staff & service. Food & wine exceptionally good!!! Looking forward to eating there again!!
