Mot Hai Ba has been an East Dallas staple since 2013, offering a seasonal menu inspired by locally sourced farms and ingredients, as well as influences from France, Asia & Italy.
Our original location in Lakewood offers a cozy, intimate dining room, and a lovely enclosed patio for your enjoyment.

Due to our limited seating capacity we ask that guests adhere to the following reservation timeframes:
parties of 1 to 2 guests - 1 hour 45 minutes .
2 to 4 guests - 2 hours .
5 guests and up - 2.5 hours .

My number one favorite restaurants in Dallas! A true hidden gem; the food is amazing, flavors are wonderful and staff always helpful and nice. A great atmosphere, small and intimate. Great choices to sit at the small bar, restaurant seating or outside on the covered patio. You won't be disappointed. The tempura swiss chard is full of flavor, steamed buns to die for and the market fresh grilled oysters are the BEST!! And those are just the starters!

Mot Hai Ba is one of our go to restaurants and it always delivers. Last night we had short ribs, garlic noodles, chicken curry, scallops and branzino. Each entree was outstanding and comes highly recommended. Lack of parking is becoming an issue but this restaurant is truly outstanding.

Their food, drinks and service are always impeccable. We had the Shaking Beef and the Short Rib- both beautiful dishes. Our waiter, Michael, was so helpful in pointing out the best wine pairings as well. Lovely date night dinner!

One of the best little spots in town. I’ve never had a bad dish here, and the garlic noodles cannot be skipped on any visit. Service is always attentive, drinks creative and tasty, and the food is inventive. I’m so happy I live within walking distance, and I’ll keep going back.

The restaurant was packed on a rainy Thursday night and with good reason- the food, service and ambiance were top notch. We had the day boat scallops and the grilled lamb neck, new dishes to us, and both were delicious and satisfying. We also shared the garlic noodles, which are a must-order. The wine suggestions were perfect, and the service from Judd was well-timed and informative. If you have not tried Mot Hai Ba, you are missing one of the gems of Dallas.

Brought some friends who had never been and they loved it. Sat on the patio and at one point the music above our heads got gradually really loud. I ended up going to the bar and asking about turning it down..... he assured me he had it and by the time I got back to the table, it was definitely fixed.

The only reason I gave a 4 on service was that my server forgot two items that we ordered but it was something I didn't want to make a big deal out of. He was very nice and we had such a wonderful food experience and we don't like to complain. The food here is AMAZING and very adventurous. We have been many times and will be back many more. It's a must go and a top culinary destination in Dallas. Cozy and intimate setting for a date but could be great for a small group as well.

As always, our dinner at Mot Hai Ba was fabulous! We went early - 5:15 - which is our favorite time to dine out in a small (3) group. Most restaurants are less packed and thus quieter at this early time, service is generally top notch, and specials are always available. All true at Mot Hai Ba. We were pleased to find Rose' Cava available, and enjoyed that with the Squash Blossoms and the Peach & Grilled Lettuce Salad. Two diners enjoyed the Day Boat Scallops with sides of rice and Chili Bok Choy, while the other diner had Shaking Beef and Garlic Noodles. We finished our meal by sharing the chocolate cake. Everything was absolutely delicious! Not a misstep anywhere! Our waiter was attentive but did not hover, and even blessed us with an extra order of garlic noodles to take home. We will return!
