   This was our third meal at Newman’s and all meals have been exceptional. The atmosphere, service and food have been high quality. The setting in the mountains and the dinning area in an old inn present a calming quality to the excellently prepared meals.

   Over and above all around. Dorie even printed out a birthday card to go with a bottle of wine from friends. Great Margarita and Ken Wright Pinot perfect with salmon and filet. Yummy parsnip purée.

   This is our third visit for Sunday brunch, and while the view is wonderful and the inn is charming, the food wasn’t as good as I remember in past visits. Shrimp and grits had maybe 5 shrimp that tasted bland (probably frozen) and the dish was too salty. Accompanied by two asparagus spears, a little meager in portion size IMO. Server didn’t refill water glasses routinely and had to be asked a couple times. Desserts were all tasty. None of this is a deal breaker but the experience is not as good as past visits.

   Absolutely wonderful food, served properly and a setting that is beyond expectations. My only suggestion would be to allow a bit more time between starters and entrees. The restaurant and setting is too beautiful to feel the least bit rushed. The aperol spritzes are “over the top” perfect mix. Thank you.

    This is our first time at Newman’s, we recently moved to the area. We had a wonderful dinner with out friends. The service was wonderful, the food is amazing, the view from the mountain wonderful also. We’ll definitely be back!!! I ride my bicycle up he mountain all the time and wondered what the Inn was all about!

    The family is lovely and ambiance is incredible. I think maybe this experience was so poor was because it was on the backside of very busy holiday season, we hit an off night. We have been here before and always had a top notch experience. I do have empathy for the exhaustion the family must have as they go ALL OUT during the Christmas season. We bought a really nice bottle of wine. Took them forever to find it, it was stored too cold and didn’t begin to open until post entree. Even then The bottle was just OK, at twice the price of Caymus, we expected a very special wine. The food was actually not very good for any of the 3 of us and at these prices you would hope for Michelan 1-star level. My husband had the pork, my son had the duck and I had the filet. The best course was the second course homemade linguine in a delightful white sauce with nice peppery flavor. The filet was an Ok cut of meat with no special sauce or treatment, the potato parve may have been made days prior, I think there 4 greyish Brussel sprouts. My sons duck was stringy and flavorless. My husbands pork was not good. The torte was a very stale homemade German chocolate cake…dry and literally terrible. When you drop $800 for a special occasion you expect much more.

    Newman's is a gem! We love to come to the Orchard Inn and soak in the ambience of this "country cottage". The star of the show is the food though. Each of the four courses was excellent - superb flavors and combinations. We were impressed with the plate presentations, balance of the dishes and succulent flavors. Our only disappointment was our server - she did not have a good pace to the evening and she was consistently forgetful and "running behind schedule". Hopefully this issue will be fixed by the next time we return. We will be back.

    This was our first time at Newmans and it exceeded our expectations. The Sunday brunch was amazing and prepared to perfection. The beautiful view overlooking the mountains, the soothing soft music, and superb service and hospitality made for a most memorable and enjoyable gourmet experience. We will indeed return for special occasions.

    Wondered if chef was there…. Pasta dish no flavor,risotto way too salty, lobster cold and undercooked and unseasoned, cheese dessert inedible… old and dry and apple not apricot.Too much purée…whatever happened to real vegetables. Very much overpriced. Lamb decent but almost cold, beef good. Nice atmosphere and nice server.

    My husband and I had brunch at Newman’s was a wonderful experience. Especially for our anniversary and birthdays! Watching the birds outside eating was so relaxing. He had oysters, shrimp and grits, and a cheese platter for dessert. He really enjoyed each course. I had a butternut squash ginger soup, duck with farro and Swiss chard, and a very interesting s’more for dessert. Everything was creatively presented. Additionally, we started with a goat cheese amuse bouche and a cheese jalapeño biscuit with an onion jam. Our server was so pleasant as well. Cannot wait to go back for dinner!

    Our third evening at Newman's. My wife made a special request to have her Birthday dinner. Everyone was attentive, our server was knowledgeable and polite, cocktails were great. The fixed menu presented interesting options for an exceptional dining experience. Now, I have to express my dissatisfaction... portions were small and our food came out barely warm. Quality food is to be served hot from the kitchen, then when you order lamb chops med. rare and they are sent back to the kitchen to heat up, they come back over cooked. When we expressed our concerns the staff was attentive but offered only sorry then free coffee. We continued our dissatisfaction and presented them with what would make us feel better. They agreed. This is a great restaurant I just hope they improve and attempt to educate their staff on providing an exceptional experience for their clients.

    Newmans Restaurant at the Orchard Inn has been a favorite for years, and it keeps getting better. The addition of the Terrace a couple of years back makes a great difference and is our favorite place to dine. The Prix Fixe menu has been a staple but the flavors coming out of the kitchen in recent years have really improved. We love New England Country Inns and this is as close to that as we've found in this area. The setting, the views, the service, the hospitality, and the food are all exceptional. It's about a 45 minute drive for us, but worth every minute. Sometimes we have simply stayed over at the Inn to make it a truly special treat.

    10/10 recommend Newmans Restaurant in Saluda, NC. The food and views were out of this world and the service was top notch- thank you Wyatt! This is definitely a special place that we will always remember and hopefully come back to!

    The food quality and presentation is outstanding! Service is very attentive and our server was well versed on the menu. We have been here both for brunch and dinner and think that Newman’s is one of the best restaurants in the greater Hendersonville/Saluda areas.
