We booked an early festive lunch as my mother had a concert to go to. From the moment we arrived, it was a fiasco, for the following reasons: - It said wait to be seated, but the manager sitting at the back (doing paperwork and eating)just shouted sit anywhere. This wasn't quite right as tables were reserved. - when we sat down, the table wasn't set and they couldnt' find our booking, I had to show evidence of this. I was told that the site I used does not always link up, then make a decision not to use it. - Once again the manager sat at the back of the room and eventually told the waitress they would fit us in. No apology and did not come and see us personally. POPPY THE WAITRESS WAS EXCELLENT AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF During our main meal, we could hear the manager having a meeting over zoom, it was very loud and we could hear every word. Poppy requested on our behalf to turn it down, which he did but it could still be heard. We left early and did not wait around for a coffee, due to the managers rudeness. This booking was for the 15th December and the plough could be a great pub .The manager, on duty that day, would benefit from training in customer service and professionalism. And maybe think about sitting somewhere else to have your meetings!

Sadly they had run out of Sunday Roasts in the evening when we arrived but selection on menu was good. Great they serve food until 10pm. We joined in the pub quiz which was good fun too.

Sat in the gazebo area, outdoors, and the food, delicious and the staff were everything you'd expect them to be. I would give this Public House a 10 out of 10 rating.
