Located in the historical city centre, half way between the cathedral, the Town Hall and the Central Market. ORIO is characterised by a new conceptualisation of the Basque tavern based on an overflowing “pintxos” bar along with a short yet varied menu inspired by the fishing villages in the Basque country. The pleasant scent of iron, rust and sea come together to offer something
different in an informal atmosphere which serves the best fish dishes from the Basque Country.

It was an absolute shambles from start to finish. I cannot believe I paid €180 for what amounted to a disorganised mess of pre-cooked, bulk food with no attention to quality or service. Parts of the advertised menu were never served at all, with no explanation or apology. The pacing was appalling — we were left waiting around 30 minutes between courses, while other tables were served inconsistently and seemingly at random. The lack of organisation was glaring and made what should have been an enjoyable experience deeply frustrating. This was a terrible experience and utterly unacceptable for the price. I left angry, disappointed, and feeling completely ripped off.

The service was excellent, our waiter helped us understand exactly what each dish consisted of with recommendations. We also did a “by the glass” wine tasting, which again our waiter did an exceptional job allowing us to taste the best wines. Not the most expensive, but the ones that were perfect to the taste and smell. The food was carefully recommended, I had been craving shishito peppers that were fried. I was very happy with that choice. My wife got the seasonal tomato salad and I chose the Hake fish breaded. Both were delicious and well received! I recommend this restaurant while in Old Town Valencia.

Overall an impressive restaurant with a quite authentic Basque menu. Ambiance is very chill and comfortable. We had the white beans , the grilled artichoke with Iberico and the blood sausages as well as some croquets. All of it was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, but some of the food came out a bit slow, which was no big deal. A tasty experience and not very expensive compared to a restaurant like this in American cities

The food is good, the service is good. But is really disappointing that when we ask for a dessert menu they told us that the kitchen is closed!!… what? You should come to the table and let us know that, and ask if we will be ordering dessert, I think. Very unprofessional.
