Over dit restaurant

Geweldig voor live muziek
romantisch
Goed voor speciale gelegenheden

Down the narrow hallway that feels like a Parisian alley, tucked away one flight below the 1930’s inspired bistro dining room is the Paris Bistro Jazz Café. Perhaps because it’s invisible from the street above, it reminds many of the prohibition era speakeasies that were hidden in many of Philadelphia’s neighborhoods. Once in the room, the gold & red tones of the walls and upholstery create a relaxing and romantic space that’s perfect for a first date, cocktails, dessert after the theater, post movie or the perfect end to your evening after dinner upstairs in The Bistro. The intimate 52-seat café includes a well stocked bar with seating for 10 and unobstructed sight lines from each table. The full bistro menu and wine list are available. The Jazz Café stage features Philadelphia’s best jazz musicians and singers. Straight Ahead Jazz, The Great American Songbook, Gypsy Jazz and music of the Jazz Era are the focus. Check the calendar for more information about our artists.

The live jazz performance of the Bradford Neeley Quartet on Sunday 6/23/19 was incredible! These young gentleman were so fantastic and passionate with every song they performed. Dining ambiance in the jazz room was wonderful. Roomy for large groups, intimate for a date, and casual and cozy if you chose to sit at the bar. Food was great, I do with they had more options for sharing opposed to the heavier variety of entree selections. I just feel that would fit the vibe of the room better. Service was fantastic by all we interacted with.

Excellent evening! My daughter chose this restaurant for her high school graduation dinner. She was here earlier on a date and enjoyed the food and the jazz music. Our entire family had a wonderful time!

The jazz cafe is downstairs from Paris Bistro. The jazz musicians perform 3 sets per night for a modest cover charge. Service is excellent- attentive but very discreet so the performance is not disturbed. Cocktails are excellent. Food is classic French bistro cuisine. We went for the last set, so we did not have dinner, but enjoyed some appetizers. The chicken liver pate was memorable. We’re looking forward to returning!

We started with an appetizer with fresh mozzarella and marinated cherry tomatoes. It was very nice. It was served with good bread and butter. We usually share the pate to start but a change in the recipe gave it an unpleasant texture. The mustard and the cornichons have also sadly disappeared. We won't order it again. We initially sat at the upstairs bar and the bartender was wonderful. We later went downstairs for the entertainment and sat at the bar. There was a French couple - the wife sang in French and the husband played the accordion. We really enjoyed them. We both ordered hamburgers medium rare which were served exactly as requested. The downstairs bartender was not attentive even though there were very few people in the room.
