We eat at Passion Fish every other month or so. This time it was for my mother’s 96th birthday. My sister and her family come into town for the occasion. It was perfect all the way around.
Wedding anniversary celebration. We were treated like royalty. Personalized menu, two dedicated servers to our table. And the food was par excellence! One of the singular best dining experience in our lives (and we eat out st least three times a week at Open Tables too-ranked restaurants. PassionFish is simply next-level dining!
expensive but great food. a little loud for our business meeting and we had to ask them to turn the music down. great dinner though and would absolutely go back.
I really like their classic ceviche! It is the best. You should try their calamari also!
We love a Passion Fish, the best in RTC. The crispy flounder is our favorite item on the menu. This was a birthday celebration for my husband and restaurant week. Great anytime, but extra special value during this week. Thank you to the manager and server for taking such good care of us, we will see you soon!
This is our favorite place for good food and a wonderful dining experience.
All excellent, including service, but removed one star because one of the servers came to inform us that an item ordered had gluten in it and the person who ordered it couldn’t have gluten - which was excellent - however she walked away and didn’t return to offer a replacement. Once our appetizers arrived, that guest had no appetizer and needed to request another option at that point and wait for her appetizer. Slight fail at otherwise amazing restaurant (been to other locations and Reston is the BEST!) Food is always excellent and restaurant week prices can’t be beat!
It was my Fiancé’s 30th birthday and the Passion Fish Staff took a wonderful care of us and made her feel very special on her special day! We will definitely be back, we love this place!
Service was poor, waiter had to come back and ask what our order was several times, and we still were given the wrong dessert! Oysters were good, sushi was fine but sloppy in execution. Fish size was a good portion. Brussel sprouts were over salted. Eggplant was good.
I’ve been here a few times, but the this last time was for Restaurant Week. We love that we could pick from almost anything on the menu for our entree. The food was good and the staff were great.
Great food. Nice ambiance and atmosphere. Waiters were great and food was nicely ireoared🗣
Wonderful food and service
Wonderful (as always) evening spent at PassionFish. Service and food were spectacular.
We had a fine dinner at Passion Fish, excellent service, cold drinks! I had the Atlantic Char, very tasty and my wife the Branzino. Our son had the gumbo, which was also excellent. The Brussels sprouts side dish is killer! The only gripe with the food was the branzino, which is a whole fish and very bony. Had to be very careful eating it. And its a mid-to-upscale seafood place so it ain't cheap! (But we weren't expecting it to be). Overall an excellent seafood restaurant, go and enjoy and don't worry about saving a couple of bucks. I can't wait to go back and try the sushi.....
Amazing per usual!
Great as usual. Every time is excellent.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed Passion Fish from the cocktail to the delicious swordfish and all that accompanied our dinner. The server was professional and friendly as were other staff members who helped serve. The manager stopped by to check on us and he discussed the sourcing of our dinner with expertise. It was a relaxing evening that felt like a perfect mini-vacation. Thank you Passion Fish!
Disappointed that a $5 charge was added this year if ordering the crabcake sandwich. Not sure we will bother driving from Arlington again (tolls).
Best restaurant in Reston Town Center. Food is always prepared perfectly and the wait staff is excellent.
I made a reservation to celebrate a friends bday. Didn’t realize it was Restaurant Week, which I typically avoid because of crowds, sub standard service and limited menu options. Happy to report just the opposite during this visit. RW menu was varied, portions were normally sized and value was excellent. Ceviche, grilled trout and key lime tart for $22!! And every course was delicious. Service was prompt and well organized. Have to say....I really have never had anything but a great experience at PF.
They have the best ceviche ever!!!! And their sushi is pretty darn good. I asked for the salmon and tuna entrée- they came back twice and said thy were sold out! Then I got something I didn’t really want which messed up the mood. Our server was trying to do her best so I don’t blame her at all. I go here many times and always have a good time, except this one time...it’s fine tho! I’ll go again for that amazing spicy ceviche
This is an exceptional restaurant. Highly recommended for food and service.
Always love the food at PassionFish. However it was very noisy during lunch and it took the waiter and the servers some time to come out with our food etc. probably due to it being restaurant week.
Love this restaurant, particularly the ceviche and the lobster roll. The service is always excellent. And it's a particularly good value during restaurant week.
My husband did not like the gumbo. Two soups were very good, carrot/shrimp and the corn chowder. The waiter was just OK, not great. And the bartender would not make me a gin fizz. So rather disappointing.
A large group of us came here for dinner during Restaurant week. We were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time, but they were busy and we were a large group. I attribute a lot of our experience being due to how busy they were, but once seated, our server was not the friendliest. She barely spoke to us and it took forever for us to place our orders. Once we did finally place our orders, the appetizers came out quickly, but the entrees again took forever. The were packed and I understand you can only cook so much at one time. I had the spice salmon and avocado roll for the appetizer. It wasn’t spicy at all, so I’m not sure where it gets it’s name. I also ordered the jambalaya and was pretty disappointed. It came out with a clotted layer on time like it sat under the heat lamp for quite some time. It also contained minimal rice and lacked the spices normal jambalaya has. It tasted more like a gravy with seafood mixed in. I would give it a second chance on a night that maybe isn’t so busy, but I’m not in a hurry to go back.
Had dinner here during restaurant week. Passion Fish continues to get worse and worse. I recommend skipping this restaurant unless you're sitting at the bar during happy hour.
Great food but the staff was a bit on the sulky side. There was nothing wrong with the mechanics of what they did, but everyone seemed unhappy. I wondered if they were understaffed or something? At any rate restaurant week is a fab value here. My Artic Char was deliciously cooked and the sauce was perfection. Two of our group had the whole fried flounder and said it was A+. The creme brûlée was disappointing. There was a an odd flavor that wasn’t in the description and the sugar topping wasn’t crispy. The chocolate crumble was to die for, however.
Perfect lunch. Everything was delicious. Lobster gazpacho, tomato salad with hummus, shrimp and grits, red rainbow trout with citrus sauce, chocolate mousse crunch. Plus free parking.
A wonderful experience during restaurant week. Everything was excellent, the gumbo was delicious and I had a key lime tart for desert which melted in your mouth. This is the best restaurant in Fairfax County.
It was restaurant week and the choices were very good to select from. Service was great and food was very good.
It was our first time, and we love this place and will go back there again.
They provide excellent service, great food, and friendly atmosphere.
Creme brûlé was terrible
Another Restaurant Week star. Great value-order off of the regular menu. Parking validated for one hour. You'll need your license plate number if you don't use the RTC App. We enjoyed our meal of seafood cobb salad and chilled lobster soup. Lime tart for dessert.
Great restaurant for brunch, lunch or dinner! Definitely one of our favorites!!
Outside waiter a little rude- really not listening - a little lofty in his attitude. Needs more training
Had another great dinner at Passionfish. This is our go to restaurant for crab cakes, which are hands down the best I've had anywhere, ever. They have virtually no fillers, had not one piece of shell, and the crab meat is moist and very tender. Also, you can choose a sauce for them, and I usually get both the traditional tartar and the beurre blanc, which is a rich wine/butter sauce. Yum.
We also ordered a trout dinner which was simple and delicious, their wonderful sweet potato fries, roasted brussels sprouts made to order, and an order of their "mac and jack". Macaroni and cheese is not something I ordinarily get as a side dish, being that most of the time, it's bland and boring. The chef at Passionfish had the incredible good sense to add a good amount of jack cheese and then browned butter to the crumbs on top. The browned butter makes the dish stand out.
To complete the evening, our server was witty and prompt, and the bartender made a cocktail to my specifications that wasn't on the menu. Always a great experience at Passionfish.
Server was great. He was quick and eager to please. Great customer service
$200 before tip is a bit pricey for 3 people considering we had no booze, just regular water.
Our visits will be for special occasions only. We did have an appetizer and desert.
Matt was excellent as our waiter and the main course was excellent quite good.
Very enjoyable evening with friends and wonderful seafood dishes. The half off wine promotion was an added benefit to a great experience.
