   Food was nice but expensive and small portions my Italian boyfriend was pretty hungry afterwards and we had already spent over £40 on two coffee and children's brunch portions also added service charge (bit cheeky given the over priced food) I was told it was Italian but there was nothing Italian about it, Probably wouldn’t go back not worth the hype. :(

   Loved the overall ambience, except the music was quite loud so struggled to hear people at my table at times so if you're looking for a quieter place this isn't for you! I ordered the eggs benedict and was quite disappointed there was only 1 egg and a tiny bit of bacon, £13 for it and still very hungry. Coffee and drinks good. Not sure i would come back just cause I didn't think the food was worth the money and the other people at my table felt the same sadly. Definitely think I'll be visiting the bakery next time I pass though - fantastic!

   My daughter and I have had coffee at the Bakery and enjoyed everything about the experience. The restaurant was also an enjoyable experience including the wonderful staff who remained calm, professional and totally unflustered during a busy Mothering Sunday dealing amicably with all customers including those who hadn’t booked!!! One customer came in asking for a table for eight people, she swaps accommodated for with a pleasant, welcoming smile as with everyone else. The food we ordered arrived promptly and was delicious. I wish Patina Bakery every success for the future and we’ll done!

   The service was very very slow. I had to ask 3 times for water for the dog. We had a light lunch and we’re there for 2 hours (just 2 of us). There was also a 12.5% service charge added to our bill (for just 2 people) and I didn’t feel comfortable questioning as it didn’t say optional or anything. I honestly would t have tipped because of the slow service. The food was very nice, albeit fairly small portions for a main meal.

   It was very quiet during our meal, only a few other tables in. The service was a bit slow in places considering how quiet the place was. Had to wait a while to get our desserts and my tea was forgotten. The food we ate was lovely but the menu was short with not a lot of choices, could definitely be doing with being extended.

   Patina is an absolutely beautiful restaurant and cafe. We dined in the restaurant and the decor is simply stunning. The food was delicious and gorgeous presentation. Unfortunately the dishes weren’t all served at together which was slightly disappointing. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

   Met with friends to celebrate birthdays. We had a simple lunch which was served in a relaxed way and we enjoyed chatting. Coffees after were pleasant too. Just what we needed at lunchtime, a place to relax and meet. The restaurant was busy but not full.

   Food was good not great. I believe my partner thought her meal was better. Side dishes were forgotten by the waitress. So when I reminded her she said she forgot. The place itself is nice. Parking is a bit of an issue.

    Enjoyed our visit, the food, the beer and found the staff very attentive. Big screen and audio v good. Seats in dining area v hard after an hour.( Moved to side seats..much better!) Thank you.

    Great service, very tasty and beautifully presented food, including vegan dishes to choose from. Have the homemade lemonade! Delish :-) We will be back for many more team work lunches.

    It was our first time visiting the restaurant although we regularly frequent the bakery. The service was excellent. The tables are too small for sharing food which is the restaurant’s suggestion, we struggled with 2 plates on the table. The fish stew although delicious was small, highly priced and wasn’t served with anything to soak up the sauce which is the tastiest part of the meal. The plaice was really tasty but covered in butter sauce which overpowered the delicate flavour of the fish and started to congeal as it cooled down. Would recommend having it on the side. The atmosphere was nice albeit quiet for a valentines evening. A further issue was the fact that only craft beers are available, not everyone likes this and like to stick to their known brands. Finally no espresso only caffetiere coffee available. My main concern is the fact that city centre (George street) prices are being charged which will put people off going.

    Only piece of feedback is that my colleague is intolerant to garlic and requested a sandwich without aioli on it and was told this wasn’t possible. She was disappointed it wasn’t made fresh to accommodate. I had the chicken Caesar and it was fresh and delicious. Everyone enjoyed the food. We’ll be back. Thank you. Xxx

    Just personal but the food was too fancy. Hard to understand and menu confusing re choices in set meals etc Some people with me liked it but it’s not for me. Chips were good.

    Delicious food in comfortable surroundings. Obviously the bread was amazing and fresh pasta dishes were superb. The staff very friendly and we felt very welcome. The treacle tart was just the perfect finish.

    Glad to have a new restaurant close by at Edinburgh Park. The decor is lovely and the food is good. Staff very attentive. I only found out about this place by chance and think it will do well if people know about it…I’d suggest leaflets around the South Gyle neighbourhood. We’re crying out for a good restaurant like this.

    The bakery part of this place which is open during has good bread, baking and coffee. But the first time we went at about 3:40 we were told we were not allowed to sit inside as they close at 4. This was strange, especially when you see where this place is - the middle of absolute nowhere, so people have clearly made a trip out there specifically. Went back to try the restaurant. The food is described by the staff as "sharing" which is ok, but the timing of the meal was bizarre. Everything we ordered arrived at the same time rather than staggered, like you might get in a sharing style place. If everything had been small plates it might have been manageable but the meal included dishes which were full main course size and just not easily sharable dishes... e.g. a linguine and a whole fish. Just things that you need in front of you to eat! It was like getting your starters and mains all at once. So the food just got cold and unpleasant as we tried to awkwardly eat linguine from the middle of the table and do fish surgery. The puddings and the bread were much better, so you can see the bakery in evidence here. But for the savoury stuff I cannot believe they have tasted all the dishes, as most of them needed a whack of salt. The servers seemed nice but apologetically told us they had not tried the dishes, but they 'looked nice' :( I get it's a launch, but even more a reason to let the staff at least taste the food. We gave feedback to the staff at the time - so didn't just wait to leave an unenthusiastic review. All in all, the price of the meal, given the faults and that it was supposedly a launch - was just *way* too high, for 2 it was over 170 pounds, plus 2 cabs = £200+ night out and that seems like bad value for the dining experience it was. However, I don't think I would have left this review if I had not been made to sit outside in the cold on the first visit - it really was just rubbish and inhospitable and probably the thing that annoyed me the most.
