   We needed a pre-concert meal and this hit the spot. Service was good and we didn’t feel rushed despite only having an hour. The food was tasty and the menu reasonably broad. No pizza though so if this is important to it’s not for you

   lovely food, good value, with polite service - not too pushy but attentive which considering it was a busy day in Edinburgh with Italy playing Scotland, could easily have been difficult to achieve. Fourth visit and the food has been consistently good.

   My husband & I were in Edinburgh for my birthday & after walking past Piccolino we decided this was the place we ate. The food was amazing!! The staff were very friendly & welcoming. When we return we will definitely be back

   Booked a table for lunch for friends to meet after long time absences. We were looking for good food with a relaxed atmosphere where we could spend time catching up with each other without feeling pressured to move on. Piccolino met and exceed our expectations. Not only did they acknowledge our desire to catch up over a leisurely lunch, the staff were sufficiently attentive without being overbearing or lax. We all ordered pasta dishes which were freshly prepared. All of us enjoyed the food which was piping hot and delicious. Added to the food we shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio between three. The total bill, we felt, was fair and appropriate for what we had. Would visit again

   Great food with great service. Loved coming here. Hadn't visited for nearly 8 months, but food is good as always. The Risotto Porcini has a new recipe and has more garlic than last time. The bruschetta is always a favourite of ours especially the aubergine. My friends had the lasagne and the linguine de mare, and said it was the best seafood dish she's ever had. My mum loved the salmon dish. Definitely recommend if you like pasta and seafood. You cannot go wrong booking here. Staff are always friendly. Especially the male server with the moustache. He pays attention to detail and is always ready to assist should we need something. A little piece of Italy! Absolutely beautiful.

    The service was amazing and very attentive to us whenever we needed anything. The food was flavorful as much as it can be when you’re gluten free! But the pasta that my date had she loved.

    For a first visit and a busy New Year's Eve this was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful as we arrived early and they accommodated us superbly. Our choice of dishes was terrific and the quality of them was highly delicious.

    Underwhelming experience. The food wasn’t anything special. The appetizers were fine. Carbonara was undercooked and the risotto was too salty. The service was terrible. Staff seemed nice but we had to wait a really long time for them to take our empty plates. When the time came to pay our bill the service charge was already added to the bill plus an extra tiramisu we didn’t have. Overall disappointing.

    We really enjoyed our meal at Piccolinos- I have often noticed the restraurant but never been before. We went for a pre christmas late lunch- just two of us, and had such a lovely time. There were a few christmas lunch groups in which made the atmosphere nice and festive- but the place wasnt too crowded or noisy. The food was delicious- we had sea food pasta which seemed to be the obvious choice. It was fresh and delicious...the service was excellent- very friendly, informative (about the dishes etc) and not intrusive. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and we look forward to going back.

    Had such a great night, the staff is some of the best I've ever experienced. Kind, social, happy, funny. The food is truly Italian, I'm Italian and I noticed the little details. True recipes, top quality ingredients, italian staff, italian way of serving. It's really worth the money. I felt back home for one night! Highly recommended.

    Staff are very friendly and very attentive at all times The place is quite small but not at all cramped It is a very casual place and tables are a bit bare of any embellishments. It would have been good to have some more traditional fare on the menu like minestrone soup,veal and liver dishes and the deserts could be more authentic Italian rather than tiramisu as ever

    Greeted by friendly , welcoming young man who looked after us. Small, friendly restaurant, food excellent, good choice on menu and gluten free pasta available. Relaxing background music. Would recommend this restaurant.

    Doing a visit in Edinburgh we wanted to dine somewhere close to our hotel. Wow, are we glad we lucked out and chose Piccolino! The service was great but the food was even better. We kept saying for days afterwards how we enjoyed our pasta dinners at Piccolono.

    First visit and might try again but not sure all food prepared fresh. Garlic bread looked like it had sat too long under hot lamp. I ordered Orecchiette Salsiccia Friarelli which was supposed to contain sausage but what arrived had prawns. Wouldn't recommend until we've tried it again
