Great food and very attentive service but having a table by the door which was regularly opened for toilet visits alongside general comings and goings was really unpleasant . The owners need to think this through and come up with an alternative and less disruptive solution for diners - review table layout maybe and risk losing 2 covers for the sake of a better experience?
The welcome on arrival was good, shown to our seat and given the food and drinks menu, the server returned after a few minutes to take the drinks order and explained the menu, all food is prepared within view of the customer and delivered promptly, the menu changes a couple of times a week and is limited to about 5 starters and 5 main courses, this ensures freshness and no microwave :) The starter was nicely presented and of a reasonable size, the mains were the same, they came with some salad, however vegetables were missing, I cannot remember if they could be ordered separately. I would recommend a visit and will be returning.
This was a bit of a mixed bag.
There is no signage so it's really difficult to tell where the restaurant is on the rather bleak parade.
Once inside , it's very pleasant with a shabby chic vibe, and the staff were very welcoming. The food was okay but nothing to write home about and it did not have a particularly Polish vibe - I spent quite some time working out there so think I know something of what to expect.
The black pudding balls were light and pleasant but under-seasoned. The best dish by far was the mackerel and beetroot - light, tasty and pretty. The duck with the carroty dumplings was edible but slightly overcooked and the dumplings were gluey - and there were too many for the dish. A few green veggies would have been a plan. The parrot fish was delicious but a trial to eat as it's a really bony fish. Much as I like a whole fish, this would have benefited from being filleted. The prices are pricey. Overall, we liked the experience but probably not enough to return.
I can strongly recommend this Polish
restaurant. The food was delicious and amazing atmosphere.
Delicious food served by friendly staff.
We'll be back.
Really enjoyed our first visit to Platzki. Will definitely be going again.
Great food and splendid, cosy atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone, especially the often changing menu makes it a great place to come back to again and again :)
Very tasty food. Simple but excellent. Great deserts!
A lovely restaurant with quaint decor. Great to see chef at work. Food was very good wholesome food but perhaps veering too much to vegetarian options. Desserts were amazing. Wonderful service. Food very good value but wine over priced.
Lovely little restaurant, food excellent and very friendly waitress great will definately be back
Fabulous food, attentive staff and an absolute gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend the weekend menu - can’t wait to try the midweek one!
Incredible food and atmosphere at the restaurant. Pricey but worth, it was awesome!!! Would recommend and will be visiting again. Thank you : )
Never disappoints! Could eat here everyday! The staff are really friendly and the chefs really know how to showcase polish cuisine. The place has a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. There a lot of attention to detail and it makes Platzki really special! Tak trzymać :)
Fantastic place - great food, lovely team and reasonable prices.
Service, food, recommendations were great. Cheese board less inspiring. Toilets not good being outside on the windiest, rainiest night ever :-) I would recommend this place though.
Had an absolutely wonderful evening here! All the food was explained before we ordered and everything was so tasty. This was our first time at Platzki but it certainly won't be out last!! Thank you
Great food, it’s changed my view of Polish food.
friendly and good service
A really great gem in a center of Manchester! Very cosy and homy atmosphere, the food is amazing: traditional recipes with a modern twist, great presentation as well.
Will be back for sure!
Lovely restaurant. You could see the fresh food ready to cook on the counter. The food was excellent and the staff very welcoming and attentive.
It took us a little while to get our drinks order but when the food arrived it was delicious and the waiting staff we're attentive when it came to the dessert. I would recommend for someone wanting to try tasty Polish food in a relaxed small environment. The only downside was there was only one toilet so had to wait for the key. But it didn't matter as the food was tasty so will definitely return
Ambiance was phenomenal; food was delicious; price(s) were very affordable. Our table (for 2) took a little longer to serve than others, but might’ve just been our particular order(s). Would return nowehere quite like it.
Great little restaurant as intro to polish cuisine.
Definitely the best place in Manchester! Food is always amazing, staff really friendly😊 we will come back soon!
Food was absolutely delicious.
Environment was very cosy and cute.
Staff extremely friendly and welcoming.
A little hidden gem in the centre of Manchester.
Food very good quality, all freshly cooked. Like the idea of seasonal food with ever changing short menu
We enjoyed a lovely evening meal at Platzki. The setting was lovely and service outstanding :) My only criticism would be the limited menu, they had sold out of a couple items so there really wasnt much choice. However what we ordered was very tasty and something a bit different which is exactly what I want when I eat out. We will definitely be returning :)
Świetna knajpa super jedzenie jak zawsze polecam 😎👌
A lovely little restaurant with a lovely ambience and nice staff but very overpriced, particularly the main courses. Disappointed with choice on menu after recently visiting Poland it did not feel very Polish.
Great food, and atmosphere was great. My only complaint is that the menu is too small. But, the food served was great.
Great food and atmosphere. Worth a try. Will definatelly come back as the menu changes often.
The food was exceptional, the service excellent and the restaurant is very authentic absolutely perfect cannot recommend enough
Great food but the table we sat at was near the door and on a cold evening it was very draughty!
We have been coming here for a while now and everytime its a new seasonal meal and everytime we are blown away by the quality, flavour, service and feel. It's seasonal, fresh food which is made with unique twists without taking away from the classic and delicious polish traditions. Must try!
The restaurant has a limited menu, but the food is very good and tasty.
However, the music is far too loud in such a small place.
The food was delicious and place its self is lovely, an amazing date for my girlfriend and I. Literally 2 things stopped it being a 5-star review and it's nothing to be put off by. 1, the waitress tried to collect my plate once I'd finished whilst my girlfriend was still eating it would have just left my girlfriend eating away whilst it looked like I'd not ordered anything. Nothing major at all, just a thing. 2nd when the waitress brought over the bill she hung about waiting over us with the card machine. Again nothing major, just a bit awkward especially as we were going to pay cash and we were busy scrabbling about getting the money together. I ended up paying on my card in the end. Other than that the food was outstanding and the place is gorgeous, the staff are super friendly just those 2 minor points. I hope you have a visit and have a wonderful time.
It mine and my sisters birthday so we needed a venue close to the Albert Hall because we were off to see John Grant with friends. I’d never tried a Polish restaurant before and I thought why not. I was so pleased I chose here the location is kinda hidden but what a find! Its super cute inside and proper cosy. The menu is changed regularly I believe, so you can’t view it on line but my sister and friends loved their choices, I had food envy over my friends choice of polish black pudding starter, my stuffed mushroom gnocchi were super tasty as were the vanilla slices we squeezed in at the end. The staff were lovely, so friendly and we indulged in polish flavoured vodkas. It was a great night and we plan to be back before Christmas. I’d say broaden your horizons believe all the good reviews this place is getting and give this place a go we need to support the independents in the city .
Overall great place. Tasting menu was delicious and each meal brought over by the chef with a detailed summary of the plate being served. Will be going again for sure
We have eaten & enjoyed Polish cuisine previously in London & were looking for somewhere to eat before attending a classical music concert, so we needed to be seated at 5:30 & have prompt service.
We saw reviews for Platzki and knew where it was in relation to our hotel and concert venue, so we booked.
Very friendly service and seasonal food - 50% of other diners were Polish-speakers. Food was very tasty & enjoyable with a good choice. Everything was well explained and it was interesting to see the action in the open kitchen. It did get busy before we left at 7:00 which caused the waitress to be a little overstretched & we had to wait some time for our coffee, but she was very apologetic & we weren't late at all.
Would definitely recommend & would go again - Dziękuję Ci!
It's been a great pleasure to visit this place. We've been there before and it's one of our favourite spots in Manchester. They made special vegan option for one of our friends which made this experience even better. We were worried before about that but they made an effortless and exquisite experience out of our get together meal.
Absolutely wonderful food with lovely staff in a very cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended.
