Pujol - Tasting Menu
I had a delightful meal. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. It was just enough. I came away full and satisfied.

Some of the dishes were fantastic such as the street snacks and mole, however some of the flavors were good without being great and as an example we have recently eaten at Los Danzantes and other known restaurants and their flavors were on a different level. The soft shell crab dish at Pujol for example was tasty without being amazing, it was missing some form of salsa or a side of the same monnaise on the corn served as part of the street snacks. For the price point I would expect it to have topped all other restaurants in the last few weeks that we have tried while on our vacation but unfortauntely for the reasons mentioned we didnt consider it within our top 5 restaurants for the cuisine alone.
We did the tasting menu-a few dishes were delicious, like the ox tongue and mole, but most were thoroughly average, and seemed to be unique for the sake of it. Outrageously expensive ($300 for two with no alcohol) for what you get. Waitstaff left us unattended for almost 30 minutes before bringing the final course while the rest of our section received it. Overall very skippable for other better and more affordable eateries in CDMX.
The signature dishes - Elote and Mole Madre (day 1788+) - lived up to their fame, and personally, made me want to genuflect with each tiny bite. Seasonally available during our meal was the sea bas ceviche-style which was perfectly acidic but did not have the spice my palette was expecting. Churros, anyone? YES, please. The wine experience, on the other hand, made me take off a star. Fine dining with no wine pairing...hmmmm. I suggest you engage the sommelier as soon as you pick the other courses. We chose a wine per two courses and I believe this elevated our experience. The service, not quite 5-star, either. They say to enjoy the 6-course meal over 2.5 hrs but somewhere around Course #3, we felt rushed as they were targeting the 9:30 seating (ours was at 6:30). At around 9pm, they tactfully suggested we take our dessert in the garden which was a welcome break in the meal, anyway. Would we go again? si, si, si!!
Pujol is eclectic.. Food is not your ordinary Mexican fare. Each course is special in its own right. Presentation is also important.. Most dishes were eye appetizing as well as very tasty. The Mole course is a unique opportunity to understand that age counts. This was my second time dining here and I hope to visit Cosme in NYC in April.
Comida extraordinaria. Platos con sentido y que sorprenden totalmente . Porciones suficientes. Únicamente Algo falta en los postres son muy buenos pero no alcanzan el nivel del resto del menú.
Amazing experience from start to finish. We booked months in advance to enjoy our first trip to Mexico City. Worth the wait and truly enjoyable.

La comida en general es muy rica, el sello de la casa, es decir, el mole madre, sin duda, me pareció espectacular. Sin embargo, hay platillos del menú de degustación que podrían mejorar, sobre todo, los productos del mar, no hay que sacrificar sabor por presentación, por ejemplo, el cebiche de Lubina. Tal vez por ser un chef tan reconocido y por su peso dentro de la comida mexicana y mundial, esperaba un menú sin fallas, no obstante, eso es algo muy personal y gusto de cada comensal, sería injusto no reconocer las otras delicias. Si tienen la oportunidad no se lo pierdan.
Bueno el Menú, van por buen camino.

As a recommendation and friends anniversary surprise we made the reservation for Lunch Tasting Menu.
This was one of the best dining experiences we have had.
I am conflicted at whether to write a detailed review of the entire experience (almost 3 hours), but I will just briefly try to describe it.
The service was impeccable! And I mean that in every sense. There was always someone there by every table, attending to all their guests needs.
I am very picky on what I eat (there are foods that I can’t eat for various reasons), as well are some of my friends, but we LITERARY, tasted all that was brought to our table.
Next visit to Mexico City, Pujol will definitely be the place to visit again.

Personalmente salí muy feliz, fue una experiencia muy agradable desde la entrada el personal es sumamente amable, la comida exquisita, no soy un experto ni mucho menos. Así que no puedo dar una explicación detallada de los platillos pero mi familia y yo salimos muy satisfechos con las porciones y el sabor de cada uno de los platillos y la atención.
We were impressed by our entire experience from the moment we walked up. The restaurant is sleek and modern. Everything down to the music selection adds to the experience. The staff are exceptionally trained.
The food blew our minds. A few courses you get a selection between three options, so three of us decided to get one of each and share. The veggie options were not as impressive -- but we still enjoyed them. The octopus and tongue are incredible. But the mole madre was the shining star of the entire experience.
It was more expensive than we initially expected (no prices indicated on line we could see that were very accurate) but overall would recommend,

Amazing and exceeded expectations. I made the reservation 2 months ago and have been looking forward to trying the mole. The mole was delicious along with everything else from the tasting menu. Highly recommend for overall great food, service, and presentation.
Awesome dining experience, superb service, each plate flavor was unique, i felt that the plate size is now bigger and that’s a good thing since in previous occasions i felt they were too little.

Pujol es uno de esos restaurantes imperdibles, el chef Olvera ha logrado un menú de degustación espectacular, fusión impecable de sabores y gustos mexicanos. Su mole madre/mole nuevo es sencillamente el mejor! Espero pronto volver a tener esta experiencia gastronómica!
We came for the tasting menu at lunch after a museum. From the roasted, smoked baby corn with chile mayo to the churros ( I had room for a few bites) the food is exceptional. I wish they had a pairing of food and drink, but they have an excellent wine list. We started with different, delicious mezcal cocktails, then I had two glasses of excellent Cava.
We arrived early, although the Taco Bar was already packed. Only a few people were seated for the tasting, so we were greeted by most of the staff. It was a Saturday. We found the atmosphere relaxed, few diners were really dressed up, although we made an attempt to look presentable.
Our server spoke perfect English, and explained all the dishes, without being precious. She seemed to enjoy presenting each dish, and why not?
We never felt rushed, although we never waited long for anything.
When we travel, we like to try at least one special place. Pujol lives up to its reputation.

Delicioso todo. Talvez reducir un poco las porciones ya que al final era mucha comida.
Es una experiencia increíble. El tamal de alcachofa es excepcional y el postre de panqué de hongos con helado de lavanda realmente sublime. El único punto que no fue de mi total agrado es que todos absolutamente todos los platos tienen Chile (y quienes por alguna razón no podemos comerlo es prácticamente imposible no comerlo porque a muchos de los platos no se lo pueden quitar). En el tema del clima, nos asignaron una mesa que está justo al lado de una hielera muy grande con con algunas botellas y que también tiene cerca el árbol que está dentro del comedor con el techo abierto, así que hacia bastante frío en esa mesa. Por lo demás, el personal muy profesional y amable.
Increíble el servicio. La relación costo-beneficio es estupenda, vale la pena cada uno de los platillos. El ambiente del restaurante es muy acogedor, con música a un buen volumen para tener una plática, no muy ruidoso. Muy recomendable, tanto para mexicanos como para extranjeros.
This was by far the best dining experience I have ever had. The food was splendid, the service on-point and the ambiance just alluring. The Pujol team has thought of everything. They were engaging, helpful and full of pride to work at the restaurant. I very much appreciated the opportunity to see the immaculate kitchen, meet the team and see how the tasting menu coordination process worked. Thanks, Pujol!!

I would not return or recommend to anyone. The food was not very good, and service was worse. We waited a very very long time between courses. We had to ask three times for our food. I have eaten at many of the top restaurants around the world and Pujol is not in their league.
