RedFarm brings a greenmarket sensibility to modern and inventive Chinese food and super-charged dim sum complemented by modern, rustic décor. Joe Ng’s menu takes a clean, fresh approach to Chinese food. Signature items include clever dim sum creations for which Ng is known and small plates: Pac Man dumplings; yuzu wasabi shrimp; mushroom spring rolls that evoke a chanterelle mushroom; and a sculptural chicken salad. Modern takes on classic main dishes includes remarkably tender marinated rib steak with steamed baby bok choy and spicy steamed sea bass.

RedFarm is located at 201 West 3rd St., in Downtown Austin, at the corner of West 3rd and Colorado Streets.

THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED and should be taken off Open Table. It was great, sad it’s gone.

Made reservation a week in advance for a birthday celebration. Showed up and the restaurant was closed with no notice or explanation.

I wasn’t impressed. Bland, unseasoned food served tardily by indifferent and unfriendly service. Which makes sense that they are going to go out of business by January 5th, 2026, according to the demoralized staff themselves.

This was our 5th or 6th time dining at Red Farm. The food that we received was great but the service was poor. We didn’t receive our Dim Sum, pork buns, and the food runner said it was on its way. We were brought out noodles and sat there for 20 minutes without plates for us to serve our food. We had to finally ask the manager for plates. When we received the tab I told the waiter that we never received the pork buns and to take it off the tab and he said he must have not put in the order. When we got the ticket back the pork buns were on there and we had to send the ticket back to be corrected. I do know mistakes are made and that waiters and food runners get busy but trying to cover up ones mistakes is frustrating to say the least. We were never offered forks, had to ask for refills of water, and not offered dessert at the end of the meal. Very disappointed in last nights service.

We had a really good dinner and experience at RedFarm! The food was delicious and they had some amazing happy hour deals that made it even more affordable. Our server was terrific and attentive. We enjoyed every dish we tried.

Initially there was an old moldy smell to dining area. Food, service was pretty good. Food came out on time, appetizers were pleasant & plentiful. Cleanliness of bathroom was exceptional. Pricing fair. Upon night at home to include following morning stomach was upset, bleary & gassy.

One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants; we live downtown and go regularly. Food is always delicious, service is great (although the waiters seem stretched a little thin for the amount of tables they have) and the atmosphere is lively.
