   Service was impeccable, venue is as clean and classy as it always has been but the food was clearly subpar. Was it a one-off? Hard to believe on a Friday night but one can only hope that was the case.

   Food is expensive but phenomenal. The foie gras and magnet were exceptional as was the short rib. This is some of the best French food you’ll find downtown in Montreal. Wine list is pricey but that is most places in Montreal

    Ce fut un des repas le plus apprécié que j'ai eu l'occasion de déguster à un restaurant. Le raffinement fut à l'honneur. Bravo au chef et bravo au restaurant Le Renoir pour cette heureuse initiative !

    Service was quite slow but pleasant and professional when we got it. Waiter did serve sparkling water to a guest that requested flat water, not a big deal, but... Food was tasty, nicely presented. Tables are large, explaining why guest have to speak up to each other. Implies a higher noise level than usual, delicate for business conversations.

    consistent performance from kitchen and wait staff. Soups are excellent as well as main fish dish of the day. Light cuisine, delicate presentation. The go to place for lunch business meeting. Quiet ambiance allows for conversation.

    Chef Olivier Perret and his team always delivered great taste and value in our plates. And the team of waiters and waitresses at Renoir are always friendly and professional. It is my go address when I want to make sure I don't disappoint my guests. Le Chef Olivier Perret et son équipe ont toujours le souci de nous faire découvrir des nouveautés ou redécouvrir des classiques avec bon goût et avec un bon rapport qualité/prix. L'équipe de serveurs et serveuses au Renoir sont toujours agréables et professionnels. C'est mon adresse de référence quand je veux être sûr de ne pas décevoir mes invités.

    The burnt leeks and trout appetizers were delicious, as was the beef tenderloin with mushrooms and fries. The fries are heavenly dipped in the bearnaise sauce. Jean-Pierre is an attentive, friendly and knowledgable server. I trusted him to recommend wine pairings with the food and I loved his selections.

    Excellent cuisine. I love their home made vegetable soups. The portions are small: 2 shrimps on the appetizer dish, and entree was a small piece of fish with scan garnish. So, acceptable for lunch but may not satisfy a hardy appetite. Service is always attentive. The dining room was very quiet, few clients, even for this time of the year, so we were allowed an unrushed lunch.

    I was looking forward to a sumptuous new year's eve meal with friend's and family. The service was slow, haphazard. There were several errors that were eventually corrected or mitigated. Nevertheless, the errors of timing did impair the gustatory flow of the meal. That said the staff was friendly and jovial. The presentation of the meal was impeccable, th flavours less so. The amuse bouche was delightful, the delicate truffle undertones enhancing the thin slice of scallops. The flavour of the ravioli in an emotion of sea urchin was a delight but the ravioli was so al dente as to be tough. The lobster tail was cold when served. This may have been intentional. The flavour was complex and refined but slightly overwhelmed the delicacy of the lobster. Several at our table did not enjoy it. The final plate was a beef presentation which was edible but nit memorable. The desert was delightful, the bitter orange complementing the sugary meringue. All in all, a competently executed meal but hardly up to our expectations.

    One of the main courses was served with plastic remains from the preparation. Awful surprise ! Only the waiter came to apologize, while the manager looked the scene from few feets of distance. After all not the experience expected for this restaurant and location.

    C'est l'un de mes restaurants fétiches...Cependant rendu un peu cher! Le service est toujours impeccable et professionnel cependant. Le décors et l'ambiance, toujours à la hauteur de la réputation. Mais la pintade saveur pesto laissait à désirer de même que la soupe, très généreuse en saveur à base de légumineuses. Desserts le choix était limité à trois pâtisseries: est-ce normal?

    Super service with a smile ..the staffs love their work..happy to serve us the clients!! Food was tasty...but coffee should be included...price a bit steep for lunch time...but otherwise great spot to enjoy food and surrounding !!!

    We booked Christmas brunch - however it turned out to be a regular lunch instead - not sure why the restaurant changed plans. We ordered grilled seabass with kind of a ratatouille side dish and braised pork shoulder with mushrooms and mushed potatoes - everything was very delicious. For a regular lunch it was entirely worth the 45$ for the table d'hôte.
